BALLOON:   Schwinn - The World? posted by: Mike Dwyer on 7/18/2006 at 3:58:47 PM
Hi,

A friend of mine won this bicycle at a raffle. It was represented as an original Schwinn "The World" model from around 1949. It has a frame number of F044538 as near as I can tell from the photo I took. Indicates a 1949 model?

Would you be so kind as to let me know who to get in touch with concerning this bicycle? Authenticity and value. I have not been too lucky gathering much information so far.

I can send a picture via e-mail. Let me know your connection speed and I'll size it accordingly.

He wants to sell it.

Thank you for your time,

Mike Dwyer

While I was talking with my friend, he mentioned the bicycle is a Black Shadow. He hadn't given me that information before. I guess that is why it looks like the other Black Shadows pictured on this site. Mike

AGE / VALUE:   JC HIGGINS posted by: Kevin Kervin on 7/17/2006 at 5:10:07 PM
Hi. I just purchased my first JC Higgins. Looks to be a late 40's early 50"s with skirt guard. Bike does have skip tooth sprocket. Repainted by original owner in the early 70's. Bike is otherwise complete and in very good condition. Where and how do I ID this bike. Thanks, Kevin

Hey all. I've been emailing with a gent who has a Western Flyer for sale, but no picture available to email. His description is that it's a black Western Flyer with an airplane on the tank..and balloon tires (2.125 I think). Any ideas on what it is or where I can find a similar bike picture?
Thanks

BALLOON:   roadmaster skyrider deluxe posted by: Jo on 7/16/2006 at 7:14:04 PM
We recently bought a Skyrider and it has original everything. It's in great shape. It's a 26' ladies teal and white with Troxel seat, has tank, headlights. I just want more info regarding the bike. I can't seem to find any info on-line. Does anyone have history on AMF? This bike? How to date it. We were told it is from the 50's. Any help would be appreciated!

If this is the bike from the sale in Arknasas it is from the mid 60's. Doesn't hold much value has it's not a real collectors bike. If this is the bike i was there and didn't bid on it and i collect bikes.
