I have a unrestored totally original, down to the tires Deluxe american Schwinn. Crome fenders, 24" . This is in real nice condition. The only thing is the horn is missing. Any idea on the value of this? I do have pictures available. I believe this to be a 1959 model.

A good way to get a ballpark figure other than getting a professional appraisal is to check on e-bay. Just type in
Schwinn bicycles and look for a simular bike. Old girls bikes are generally in better shape cuz girls weren't as hard on them as boys.

cycle on!

What are the years of Blackout hub production - New departure, Morrow, etc. Also, was bicycle production reduced during those years ?

I have a Monark with a blackout New Departure hub that I got new in 1945. I was told by Leon at the NBHAA that the frame is left over 1941 and that bicycles were not produced from 42-45.
