hi, info appreciated on this bike i just got from local craigslist. looks like a pic of another 42. it's a girls bike, complete but for horn button and rear reflectors. funny thing is the paint, very military like, brown-gray base with red accents. any experts out there? has what seems to be a different front spring arrangement than the pics i've seen. has a neat rear carrier with built-in side lights.

Your Corvette is a collectible bicycle. The 5-speed version was only a 2 year run (1961/62). At this time, most Americans were not very familiar with derailleurs, and the 5 speed was probably not a suitable option for most middleweight riders, hence the short production run. As to the value, condition and originality are everything. You stated the bike was mostly original - what was replaced or changed? Not having a photo to view, all I can say is your bike will have more value than the 2 or 3 speed versions. Put it on Ebay and let the market determine it's value!

I am looking for infio about a S.C.P.(Standard Cycle Products Ltd.) I recently acquired this bike and it is missing the wheels and rear fender. I am wondering if it's a ballooner or a middleweight. Has anyone heard of this bike? Does anyone have a picture of what it's supposed to look like? I'll post a picture once I get the bike back home. This is an amazing site. Keep up the good work. RIDE ON

Do you have any pics of it. Mine is missing lots of stuff. I'd really like to see what it's supposed to look like.I'm not entirely sure of the year of mine. It may be from the 50s. You can e-mail me directly at thebikeguy2004@yahoo.com.

My mother has a Schwinn bicycle that she got brand-new for her 12th birthday in 1941. It is in good condition, albeit a tad rusty, and needs new tires. I'm also interested in what its value might be as she is looking to sell it.
