I wanted to know what year Schwinn introduced a BMX model? I know that by 1979 they had 5 offerings, and the higher end ones look like pretty good bikes, being over $200. the company was holding coast to coast copetitions by the late 70's it's too bad they went down the way they did!

use a mild gel paint stripper (this helps to eat the impurities on the surface) and #0000 steel or copper wool. (#0000 steel wool is my choice). do NOT use a wheel, it heats the metal too much and may discolor it. rub the paint stripper into the surface with the wool one small section at a time, no more than 6"-by-6" cause you dont want the stripper to dry. (almost buffing the surface with stripper). then wipe it off with a clean cloth. you might use some clean #0000 steel wool afterwards to finish. this process also helps to remove decal residue, surface rust, gummy old lubes, road tar, and other impurities.

FOR SALE:   Old GT Racing Junior Frame posted by: Andy on 10/15/2002 at 11:29:36 PM
Hay there...i picked up an old GT Racing Junior BMX and wanted to know what it's worth. I think its from mid-late 1980s era and suits a kid aged 10-13. It needs some welding work by the seatpost stem area but otherwise a non rusty, good looking chrome frame with GT stickers a little worn. I dont really need it so maybe i can flick it off somehow or trade with something...make me an offer and get a bike for your kid

WANTED:   pictures of the redline rl20 single top tube posted by: robert on 10/15/2002 at 10:38:45 PM
does anyone have pictures of the redline rl20 single top tube frame? i have one that i have been thinking of selling. i also have been thinking of restoring it. i am the second owner of it and have had it for about 8years. about 6 years ago, i stripped the paint and stickers of it because it was scratched up, and most of you prolly know it was an all chrome frame underneath the paint. also, anyone have original decals? if you are interested in buying it, i am sort of undecided about it, i might list it on ebay tonight. my user name is bikezhop thanks!! if you have pictures, my email is bikezshop@hotmail.com

AGE / VALUE:   Robinson SST posted by: Elvis on 10/15/2002 at 6:34:13 PM
Hi all. Just fixed up a Robinson BMX bike and am wondering how old it is... It's marked SST near the rear of the top tube and the Robinson on the sides of the downtube and ends of the fork is in red white and blue. Frame marked "made in usa" at bottom of seat tube near BB. Any idea how old it is or where the SST sat in Robinson's line? The bike has GT two-peice chainring and seatpost; Also I threw a set of pristine mag-style wheels on the bike [originals need to be trued]. Any value to the SST wheels? They've got neat looking black hubs and seem sturdy enough but need the attention of a spoke wrench. Any info appreciated, thanks...

AGE / VALUE:   Haro Shredder and Robinson SST posted by: Elvis on 10/14/2002 at 4:14:07 AM
Hi! I'm trying to find what year the Haro is. It's chrome with a detangler and rear brakes mounted on the chainstays. Double spoked wheels and has "Fusion" marked on the seat clamp. Top tube is shorter than my Mongoose BMX bikes. I vaquely recall seeing one of these things in a window sometime in the last four or five years and wanting one but not having the $. Now that I've got it I'm curious how old it is. Any info appreciated.

Hey, I recently bought a 2001 Shredder, got it kinda cheap cause it was a left over from last year. I wondered if Haro stopped making the shredder because I havent seen any 2002s yet. If you need any info or pics let me know, its not a 96 but they havent changed much. Mine is green. I recently purchased 144 spoke rims to put on it. Like I said if you needs pics of anything let me know, Ill be more than happy.
