FOR SALE:   S&M Redneck stem posted by: mike on 10/4/2002 at 7:54:39 AM
S&M Redneck shafted stem for 1" threaded. anodized red. someone has sprayed it black but i removed most of that. the red seems to have weathered that abuse rather well as it didnt peel at all. still, it is used and that use does show a little bit, overall, a nice not too often seen item. asking $30 shipped in the lower 48. email me.

I'm in the process of restoreing my redline MX III and would appreciate any help you could give me...

The bike is 100% stock and all original but needs paint to be finished. Would you have any source for sticker sets?

Also would like to know what it's worth?

Thanks for any help

James

I was in the business ,and also racing at that time. I don't believe that the MX-2 was in production until the early 1980's. If your bike is truly a 1978 Red Line then it might be a Pro-Line II .

AGE / VALUE:   funny five spokes posted by: steve on 10/3/2002 at 4:43:52 AM
i came across some funny five spoke wheels the other day. they're alluminun, i think, blue in color. each spoke is not tapered to the end, but the same thickness all the way through. also, each spoke has a couple of slots running through the middle, making them sort of look like "double spokes". they're a maching set, he's also got a red one. the guy wants 40 bucks for the set, i'm going to buy them cuz they're pretty cool looking, but i'm curious what they're worth. any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi, sounds like you have a set of StarMags. they look kinda cool if they are repainted. but do not look good on any other than some of the last 70's bmx bikes. they were not a popular wheel, and often broke or rusted in weird spots. (actually more like oxidized) they are not worth more than 20-30 bucks for a set of them, unless they are MINT , then might be worth about 80dollars. and then again, that depends on who is buying them and how badly they want them! good luck!

AGE / VALUE:   Rampar posted by: steve on 10/3/2002 at 4:29:11 AM
i came across an old bmx the other day while i was looking for musclebike parts in some dudes basement. i don't know too much about bmx, but its a rampar( not the one with shocks, gas tank, etc.). its sort of brick-red color, with rampar sticker on the side. its a typical bmx style frame, with two different size circle cut-outs in the front gusset where the head tube is. it's in real nice shape, and looks all original to me. it has black handlebars, i think with a v-cross bar. red 5-spoke mags, red handgrips( those form-fitting, comfort style grips).the guy wants 50 bucks (can.) for it. can anyone tell me what these things are worth?? i'm going to buy it anyway because someone put a slick on the back!!!!
