WANTED:   Haro sprocket, Redline forks, Schwinn Predator posted by: James Weber on 10/31/2003 at 4:46:36 AM
Hi. I am looking for a unique Haro CD sprocket that came stock on the 1988 Haro Team Master bike. I think it was around until 1990. It was black with a CD (compact disc) like center and it said Haro on it. If anyone has one in excellent condition that they are willing to part with, please let me know. Also (more importantly) I am looking for a pair of Redline freestyle forks (specifically for an RL-20). The forks have a steerer tube that fits a frame with a 5" head tube. Also, I prefer the forks with the pegs mounted higher up (rather than lower as on the later models). If anyone has a complete RL-20 (not RL-20a or RL-20 II), I would be interested in that. Finally, I am looking for a Schwinn Predator freestyle bike - specifically the orange freeform ez. Please contact me with any information you might have.

Thanks.

AGE / VALUE:   pk ripper frame value? posted by: Sharyn Jost on 10/11/2003 at 1:45:29 PM
My grandson has a (don't know what to call it) "middle or body, frame that is a PK Ripper #49874 stamped on it. The local bike shop wants to trade him and I don't know what it is worth. Thanks for any help! Sharyn Please note, not a complete bike, middle frame only.

RE:AGE / VALUE:   pk ripper frame value? posted by Steve G on 10/13/2003 at 5:28:44 PM
don't know what it is worth, but it may be quite a bit. I remember when I was a kid in the 80's, P.K.Ripper was THE bike to have. don't trade until you know for sure.

Steve G, thank you for getting back to me. That seems to be my problem,"Finding out what it is worth!" My grandson is now racing BMX bikes and the local bike shop said they would make a trade but we don't know what we are dealing with, price wise. I have looked everywhere I can find. If you have any suggestions for me I would sure APPRECIATE IT. Thanks again, Sharyn

I have been watching PK rippers on Ebay for about a year now. I bought mine for $120.00, that seems to be the average price for one of those frames. If it is a "looptail" it could fetch a higher price. Hope that helps and you can check them out yourself at this link

go to vintagebmx.com, the people there specialize in vintage oldschool bikes. if it is a looptail pk, it is most likely big bucks! DO NOT TRADE IT! someone on the board will make you a better cash offer that the shop could do. you can also email me a picture of it and i can post it on the board for you. if the guys can see it, they can better evaluate it for you.
a couple of questions though: is it a looptail? (the dropouts where the rear wheel is mounted would be welded to a single looping piece of the frame, rather than two seperate pieces). is the seatpost clamp part of the frame or a separate piece? these kind of answers will help to better value the frame.

Sell it to me! I buy and resell on EBAY all the time. I have been banned by the VINTAGEBMX crew for freedom of speech issues. With the profits, I can start my own website
where I can trash people all the time.

RE:RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   pk ripper frame value? posted by Hal on 10/22/2003 at 6:22:15 PM
Jeff was not banned from VintageBMX.com. He left all on his own because he didnt like the rules there. He is welcome to post there if he wishes. All we ask is that he follows the rules that the site owner requires.

RE:AGE / VALUE:   pk ripper frame value? posted by Rick on 10/22/2003 at 9:39:41 PM
I already helped Sharyn with this a couple weeks ago. The frame is an early looptail with the seatpost sheared off. If you want to see a pic, email me, then make Sharyn an offer if her grandson hasn't already made a deal with the shop.

I want one of these in an 18 inch top tube but some pk ripper frames bring as high as 3 to 400 dollars!
