WANTED:   PK ripper, Haro,CW,GHP,Kuwahara.... posted by: Daniel on 1/27/2003 at 6:24:47 AM
Hello all. Looking for old school BMX bike from 1980-1987.
Shoot me an email with what you have. Would love to get a candy apple red PK ripper! Or a nice chrome CW! Question. Which bike had the frame that had 2 upper bars running from the neck to the seat post. It had a couple plates welded in between also. Haro? I draw a blank.

Please email me:
dq70@yahoo.com

RE:WANTED:   PK ripper, Haro,CW,GHP,Kuwahara.... posted by vince on 1/27/2003 at 10:07:52 PM
FIY: Haro definately had a freestyle bike with the split upper tube. It was called the Freestyler and the made it in the early 80's (82,83?). Also, CW had a frame like that but I think the one in question sounds like a HARO.

   RE:WANTED:   PK ripper, Haro,CW,GHP,Kuwahara.... posted by J on 1/29/2003 at 4:52:03 AM
I have an '87 Kuwahara Bravo Team, it's got the twin top tubes, kinda like a Master, but where the top tubes meet the seat tube there is an ovalized tube that the seat tube pierces, as opposed to a plate. WAY better than the Haros

RE:WANTED:   PK ripper, Haro,CW,GHP,Kuwahara.... posted by pk on 1/29/2003 at 5:48:41 PM
Haro most certainly 'borrowed' the twin top tube design from Torker. A mint Torker(79-81...King Edward #1), in my opinion, crushes any haro and should bring more cheese if sold.

RE:RE:WANTED:   PK ripper, Haro,CW,GHP,Kuwahara.... posted by vince on 1/30/2003 at 7:14:54 PM
Yeah, that's right. It was Kuwahara who had that, I mentioned CW in my first posting. The early Kuwahara Magicians had a split top tube like that, I can't remember exactley but they had an unusual tube running from the seat tube to the bottom tube as well.

RE:WANTED:   PK ripper, Haro,CW,GHP,Kuwahara.... posted by Jay on 3/26/2003 at 5:54:04 PM
I beleive your answer would be a Haro Master. I have a 1987 Haro Sport that I am considering to sell. A friend of mine used to have a Black Haro Master... that was a sweet bike.

AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE "PINK & WHITE" posted by: Steve Rice on 1/17/2003 at 11:54:02 PM
I was wondering if anyone has a clue on what a "HUTCH FREESTYLE" bike would go for. It has a few blemishes from the ownner before me, but everything else except for the tires are original. I had Blue Mountain Bike Shop go over it last year and clean it up a little. Both tires where dry rotted from sitting for so long. The orinal stickers, pads, seat, ect. are all original. I was wondering what I could get for this if I where to sell it. I know about what I could get for it. It's colors are WHITE & PINK. If you would like to make an offer, I'll also sell it. Or go to Ebay it might be on again.
'thanks

What kind of hutch freestyle bike is it? (Trickstar, Windstyler, ect...) I would be interested if I knew what it was. Thanks, Jamie.

RE:AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE posted by tim on 1/18/2003 at 1:10:52 AM
It's a Taiwan made Hutch Windstyler. Overseas made Hutch bike, not worth much at all (seriously.) Sometimes the truth hurts Steve. I'm sure you think its worth its weight in gold :-)

tim

RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE posted by Jim on 1/18/2003 at 5:28:51 AM
You should have sold it the first time. The only HUTCH freestyle stuff that is collectible is the Trick Star. The TrickStar 2 with the gold plated stuff is also pretty rad (just for the parts) and every once in awhile a Windstyler get some bids!

RE:AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE posted by wayne on 1/21/2003 at 9:11:29 PM
hey tim,its still a hutch freestyler from the 80's.ive seen the pics on ebay and in its current condition id say its worth at least 250.00 to 300.00.ive seen windstylers go for that on e all the time.granted its not a trickstar but hey,you aint gonna find one in this good of shape everyday.steve, you keep it till it sells for what its worth.dont let it go too cheap just to get rid of it.if people are dumb enough to pay 500.00 for a skyway frame and fork, you'll find someone who'll pay a decent price for your hutch.hope i helped.

RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE posted by MM on 1/22/2003 at 5:44:17 AM
Wow Wayne you really seem to know your stuff "heavy sarcasm".Do you even know what model that HUTCH frame is???I will give you a few clues,1.It is not a windstyler 2.It is the cheapest freestyle specific bike HUTCH made 3.It has all junk parts.Well what the heck I may as well let you know it is a HUTCH EXEL.It is valued nowhere near $250.00-$300.00 more likely $50.00-$100.00 as it would have no real collector value! You are quite the HUTCH expert "NOT"!Maybe you should study up on your bikes before you go making wild claims and quoting market values?

RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE posted by wayne on 1/22/2003 at 9:16:16 PM
wow m&m,you must feel proud of yourself.i mean you seem to think you know bikes, but you probably know squat.and even if it is an excel, they still went for about 250 to 300 back then.im sure you already knew that being the all knowing freestyle bike god you think you are.it just sounds like youre one of those guys who thinks he knows what he really doesnt.so go back to playing with your huffy, and try not to insult the big people.ok,junior?

RE:RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE posted by MM on 1/23/2003 at 4:25:18 AM
First off Wayne it is an EXEL not Excel. It is obvious that you thought it was a Windstyler. You sure do know your stuff! They didn't sell for that much new.As the Windstyler only had a retail price of $299.00 and was a much better bike.I have seen your posts elsewhere so I know how stupid you actually are!It is people like you that help make this hobby a nightmare by telling people values that are totally inflated. So when somebody tries to sell something they think that everybody is trying to rip them off, when in reality what they have for sale is worth what the person is offering.I have no interest in the item at all but I am sure that it won't sell for $300.00 and thanks to you poor Steve is wasting his time listing it on Ebay starting at such a high price!I also noticed that it sold for $75.00 once already on Ebay. That is about right where the market would dictate that the value should be.While you are at it can you show me where I can sell a WindStyler for $300.00?It sure doesn't happen on Ebay?I am sure that you can't so why try acting like you know what you are talking about and admit that you haven't got a clue? The Huffy comment was pretty funny and it is relevent as the EXEL was similar in quality to Huffy bikes of the same era!The funny thing is that I could at least identify a huffy while you would think it was a HUTCH if somebody told you that it was!Knowledge is power and I think that your light is dim so maybe you should take a break and learn a few things before you post and make such a complete fool of yourself.I guess we can just wait and see if the bike gets a $300.00 bid or not?Maybe you should buy it since it is worth so much?Maybe you could put your money where your mouth is instead of your foot?

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   HUTCH FREESTYLE posted by Jim on 1/23/2003 at 7:21:59 PM
Wow that is very harsh !!!!!But I agree with the value part !!!!!A little refinement in the delivery though !!!!! Not taking any sides so no flames please !!!!!
