What is a 26 X 2.125 S-2 rim worth? what do these go fo generally? Thank -You!

RE:RE:FOR SALE:   schwinn cruiser rims posted by reggie on 10/27/2000 at 3:34:21 PM
the rims i have are not 26x2.125 s-2 but are 26x1 3/4 s-2 they are different in the respect that the actuall rim is measured slightly bigger so by interchanging these two types of tires one tire would be loose fitting and the other would be very tight fitting. the ones i'm selling are going for $25.00 per rim the 26x2.125 version averages anywhere from $12.00 to $20.00 they are more abundant than the later. are you interested in buying some of mine or just curious? e-mail if need more help

MISC:   Help! tell me about a FLYING STAR posted by: John on 10/23/2000 at 9:01:47 PM
I have an older style girls bike with a badge that reads Flying Star. The badge is all brass with a little red paint accent. The original color was a light blue similar to the blue used on 'Centurions'. There is a plate on the bottom of the crank tube but it is so badly worn and pitted I can only read a couple of numbers. It has a 'New Departure' rear coaster hub. If anyone could give any information about this bike (who made, when, where etc.) I would be most greatful. TIA John

RE:MISC:   Help! tell me about a FLYING STAR posted by Cam on 10/24/2000 at 4:42:02 AM
What model New Departure hub? That will help narrow down the year. Also what tire size (26 x 2.125)? That helps determine the year. Also look in the picture database.

Look at the new site for vintage Mountain bikes on this site. I have seen an interest grow on these early bikes and given the MTB rage it is a good site for buying, selling, trading and all of the above.

MISC:   "Search by Model" posted by: VVVintage Vintage Bicycles at OldRoads.com on 10/21/2000 at 5:56:38 PM
We've added a new way to search our Vintage Bicycle Picture Database. You can now also query by "model".

Many times a bicycle's headbadge will be missing but a chainguard or downtube decal will still be legible. We're hoping this new "query by model" feature will help identify those bicycles.
You will find the Picture Database in the dropdown list at the top of this page.

FOR SALE:   Hartford Ladies Single Speed posted by: Greg Welch on 10/21/2000 at 4:18:06 AM
For Sale Hartford Ladies Ballon Tire

Not sure of the age of this bicycle, I have had trouble finding information on it. I do know that it was built in Massachussets, and Hartford was either a division or spin off from Columbia.

I am pretty sure it has been painted, it is very solid and rides nicely.
I has 24 inch wheels, and a rear hub that has "New Departure, Made in the USA" stamped into it. The serial number is B1060964....it was a little hard to make out.
$150 or best offer

It can be seen at http://members.nbci.com/welch714/hartford.jpg
