WANTED:   Dura Ace Parts posted by: Gary on 8/21/2000 at 1:17:54 AM
Can anyone tell me where I can obtain Shimano's Dura Ace Cranks, brakes, and down-tube friction shifters? I'm looking for late 70's or early 80's parts. I'm trying to upgrade my old bike. Yet keep the retro-look. So far I've found both rear and front derailleurs.

WANTED:   Schwinn Cycle Truck posted by: MNSmith on 8/19/2000 at 7:00:15 PM
Looking for a new project. The older the better. Prewar a definite plus. Whatcha got?

RE:WANTED:   Schwinn Cycle Truck posted by MNSmith on 8/19/2000 at 7:03:06 PM
Even parts will help!

RE:RE:WANTED:   Schwinn Cycle-Truck posted by KevinC. on 8/20/2000 at 5:01:00 AM
In my experience, it's easier and cheaper to get a complete Cycle-Truck than to get the parts needed to restore a real "basket case" (pardon the pun). The problem is that the Cycle-Truck has so many unique parts and a lot of people are looking for them, such as the "Cycle-Truck" headbadge, the extra long gooseneck; the extra-heavy rims and hubs; the massive front dropstand and its clip; the front fork; the front fender, the basket brackets ... and, of course, the delivery basket itself.

Hey MNSmith, where the heck did everyone dissappear to?
Could you please leave the website to that forum that Pavalo(?)
made? Thanx, Christian. (p.s. like your website)

RE:RE:WANTED:   Schwinn Cycle Truck posted by MNSmith on 8/20/2000 at 1:04:36 PM
Hey Kevin C., Thanks for the words. I know how difficult it is to find this stuff, but at the same time you never know what people have laying around. It never hurts to ask.

Hi Christian, Go to the links page here at Oldroads.com and click on Bunch "O" Bikes. There you will find a link on my front page for Bob's forum. You can also click on Bob's link which will take you there. It is " Bob Pavao's Antique Bicycle Page". Old roads links page link is right below the exploded hubs link and serial number links. Right on their front page! See ya there!

WANTED:   schwinn speedster posted by: ray on 8/17/2000 at 11:37:00 AM
I have a schwinn speedster (with the only numbers that i can find on the bike) LJ528626 . It's all original and in very good shape. Was wondering what the year & value of it would be. thank you for any input!! Oh yeh .the numbers are on the very front of the frame ,where the fork goes thru, under the schwinn placard.

RE:WANTED:   schwinn speedster posted by Jim on 8/17/2000 at 3:29:44 PM
I believe it is a 1973. Value depends on a lot of factors; condition, color, original components, year, etc...

It is probably worth under $100 on the market, maybe more to someone who loves the bikes like I do. They ride really well. As long as you like the bike, then dollar value really becomes less important. I hope you enjoy it!
