WANTED:   Information about old Spitfire bicycles posted by: Philip Chavin on 10/12/2001 at 5:55:32 PM
Way back in 1945 I bought a new "Spitfire" model, 26-inch, boys', baloon-tired bicycle. (I guess it was probably manufactured by Schwinn.) Its handlebars were painted black(!), probably because World War II was still on and chrome-plated handlebars weren't being made then-- at least not on low-price bikes. Would anyone have -- or know where I could find -- pictures and/or information about this 1945 Spitfire? Or info about new bicycles sold with black-painted handlebars during World War II? Thanks.

FOR SALE:   Mens John Deere Bike posted by: Denny on 10/10/2001 at 5:16:46 AM
The John Deere bike I bought for $75 and thats what I would like to get back out of it. I collect JD toys and thought that it would be neat to have a bike but then when I got it home, I realised that I dont have the space for a bike. Duh not?? SO if you would like to buy it email me and then we can talk on the phone for more info about it. When emailing, put in the subject line bike for sale ok? I have other things that I am selling so then I can get right to your mail. And if it isnt in the subject line, I delete it cuz I dont answer any that I dont know.
