I always thought tandems were too big to ship ups, fed-ex, or postal. What am I missing?

RE:RE:FOR SALE:   Schwinn Twinn 5 speed posted by Joel on 2/7/2001 at 8:10:16 AM
You could probably fit the bare frame into a UPS sized box. Definitely a 2 package bike.

RE:FOR SALE:   Schwinn Twinn 5 speed posted by Gordon on 2/7/2001 at 3:44:26 PM
I shipped the same model tandem via UPS acouple years back. It involved a complete disassembly to get the frame and various other parts in one box and wheelset and the rest of the bike in another. Can be done.

Can someone tell me what the deal is with a Hiawatha bike. Its about 1960, are these rare, how much could it be worth.

RE:MISC:   Hiawatha posted by rd on 2/6/2001 at 8:28:55 PM
It's a Gamble dept. store bike made by several different manf. Its never caught on very well with collectors and so not highly sought after. I have a 50's model that wll need to be repainted and cromed that i gave 60.00 for. i will restore it just to ride but don't expect that I would ever be able to get my money back out of it but I have several that way.

I have a couple hiawatha,i collect bicycles for the artwork styles and rd is correct, not the biggest seller on the block....but wait a few years all the schwinns will dry up and the baloons as well, and then new collectors to the field will puck up on them and then the prices will too,Ive seen it too many times before (pre 1920's bicycles another is Smith Miller toys (thats why old tonka is expencive today)another is redwing/mccoy/hull kitchenware (thats why plastic kitchen ware from the 50's is getting pricy so it will happen no doubt just takes time

If it is a WHIZZER PACEMACEMAKER, you will not find it on the SCHWINN
list as it was made by WHIZZER. Your s/n does not make any
since to me, but if you would look at again and tell me where
on the bike you found it I might be able to help.

FOR SALE:   Mongoose 26 inch cruiser bmx frame posted by: Preston White on 2/3/2001 at 10:26:28 PM
A very rare 26 inch bmx frame made by mongoose. It has been restored with stickers and 2 layers or more of chrome. Bmx bikes come 20 inch, racing cruisers are 24 inch but it is a rare find to get ahold of a 26 inch cruiser frame. This style only accepts 26 inch wheels. It was made in the 80s. I had a 26 inch gt bmx with rockshox on the front. You can put mountain bike 26 inch suspension forks on the front. I can provide pictures if necessary. This is one fine find of a lifetime and it can be yours.

What are you asking for the frame, what is the deal with the stickers , thanks...... DEL
