WANTED:   3Speed English Racer - Triumph or similar posted by: Greg Burns on 6/26/2001 at 4:30:59 AM
Good Afternoon: I am looking for a 26" men's English Racer. I believe that this bike is mfrd by Triumph or others and have a covered wrap-around chain guard. I've seen many of these while traveling in Ireland. Was hoping to find one here for a fair price. Looking for one in reasonably good condition but will restore if possible to do so. Any help or direction appreciated. Thanks GB

Try looking at e-bay auction on the web. Look under "Raleigh bicycle" or "British bicycle" and of course, they are offered for sale here too. I would keep reading the "English Roadsters section" here. There is a very wide selection to choose from. Raleigh,Rudge, Humber, Phillips, Dunelt,Robin Hood, Hercules, Triumph, BSA, Norman, Royal Scot, and a lot of other names too. What strikes your fancy? I would look for something that you really like, something not too common and be sure to get it all tricked out with goodies like a rear rack, bell, lights, cyclometer, bags, mascots, e.t.c. A lot of folks love these and collect them and we are here to help with your questions. These wind up in the local dump! Your local dump! Perhaps if you are adventurous you can rescue somthing for a few dollars. You would be surprised at the wonderful, historic machines going to waste.
We have overhauled hubs, bottombrackets, headsets, you name it the folks here have done it! So we can walk you thru almost anything. There is service material available, we have exploded phantom diagrams posted here for Raleigh, Rudge, Humber under the "resources" section here at OldRoads.com
There is a wide variety of parts for sale here like headsets, cables of all kinds, parts galore. "Captain Bike" Sheldon Brown is a regular here and he has this huge web site you would enjoy it is http://www. Sheldonbrown.com look under "Raleigh bicycles care and feeding" there is a lot of interesting material there. Good Luck!

MISC:   AMF Skyrider DeLuxe Roadmaster posted by: Gene on 6/25/2001 at 5:43:47 PM
I have a AMF 26" bike that I was wondering if anyone knew about how old it is? Or how do I find out? It says on the chain guard that it is a Skyrider DeLuxe. On the tank it says it is a Roadmaster. It has a decal on it that says it was made by the Little Rock Div. The only thing wrong with it is that the first owner left the batterys in the light and it is ruined. It is possible to get parts for the light? Is there a bike salvage yard that has these kind of things? I sure could use any help or even a starting point. Thank you, Gene

use some ingenuity, get some copper sheet and make the parts, cant be too terribly hard, unless the case is toast.

FOR SALE:   Inforamtion wanted on a #T70 Miami Special Bicycle posted by: Jill on 6/24/2001 at 10:00:59 AM
I am wondering if anyone can give me a price idea and how rare this bicycle is? I have a #T70 Miami Special Men's Bicycle. The tire rim measures 25" not including the rubber tires. It is quite rusty (no rusted threw areas but rusty). I believe it is all original. I can still make out the Miami metal plate on the neck just below the handle bars. The only reason I am sure it is a T70 Mianmi Special is that I hav the orignal sales slip from The W. Bingham Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. Any further information will be greatly appreciated.

I just found an Iverson Gemini III in a basement I was cleaning out. Its missing the shifter lever but other than rust on the rims it, looks to be in fair shape. I would like to replace the shifter. Does any one have one for sale?
Does any one have a picture of what this bike is supposed to look like as its got a pair of really wild pull back bars on it.

Thanks for any help you can provide,
Dan
