If you are sure it's a Schwinn (lots of copies out there) then it is probably a badge that the dealer added. I have a Corvette with a dealer badge.

MISC:   Sekine posted by: James Mousigian on 7/11/2001 at 6:29:38 PM
Where can find information on a Japanese bicycle that was donated to our organzation? The make is either Sekine or GS and there also quite a bit of Japanese written on the frame. It seems to be in fine, ridable condition and quite old. I run a small thrift shop that supports disabled folks in the SF Bay Area and I really want to find out the value of this treasure. Where do I start? I have found very little information on Sekine on-line. Please help.

RE:MISC:   Sekine posted by ken on 7/14/2001 at 7:43:58 PM
It's hard to do much without more detail on your bike's features and description, such as wheel/tire size, gearing, etc. If it meets the description of "Vintage Lightweight" (what we call 10-speed), or Roadster (i.e. has internal gears - '3 speed'), there are experts on those discussion areas who will help you. Meanwhile, there is a site called Japanese Bicycle History Research Club that I would recommend to anyone, and especially in this case. There is a mail-to address on the site. Give it a try; good luck.
