MISC:   Information on a French bicycle posted by: Roy Cogley on 4/2/2002 at 6:48:09 PM
I just bought a bike called "Motobecane." It's made in France and has "Grand Touring" on the frame. It's a man's ten speed bike and has a 25 inch, double butted frame with drop handle bars.

Has anyone ever heard of this make bike? Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you.

You can find some Motobecane info at the Classics Rendezvous site: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/France/Motobecane_Hm.htm
This and other French bikes have a popular following among the vintage lightweight crowd, so you should be able to get more info by joining the Classic Rendezvous mailing list.

MISC:   Information on Unknown Bicycle posted by: Jeff McMeeken on 3/29/2002 at 8:49:07 PM
I have an unknown bicycle that is in pretty go condition. I found the serial number under the bottom bracket (7H186771). It has a gold frame with white lettering on the chain guard saying “Dragster”. The frame is two pieces. The axle mounts are crimped by the manufacture to the rest of the frame. It has a rigedge fork, white banana set, and ape handlebars with white plastic grips. 20” Cheater Slick on rear wheel. The hubs that say “Model 200” made in Germany, and it also has some kind of cursive writing on it. I think it says “Schuerw” then under it says APROVED. Please point me in the right direction.

No sir. The bike has coaster brakes and no shifters unlike the picture. I will try to take some pictures of my bike and post them soon. In the picture database “Iverson” makes the “Dragster”. Can I assume that they were the only manufactory of the "Dragster"?
