MISC:   firestone pilot monark model k youth 16" posted by: Sandy on 5/25/2002 at 7:28:26 PM
My friend has his bicycle from his youth years and would like to know something about it. We know it is from the late 40's early 50's. It is clearly marked. It is a boys youth bicycle. The red paint is scratched in a few places, only one very small ding in one of the fenders, all parts original, in working order. On a scale of 1 - 10 on the how worn it is, it would be a 8+. We little wear, he must of been a great rider. Anyway should we have it repainted? If we do, would it affect the value. What general ball park would the value be? The bike has been put away for 50 years and looks great! Thanks in advance.Sandy

I've acquired a 3 rensho bike complete with 50th edition Campagnolo components. I am in the process of doing a complete rebuild on this bike and am missing a few items to make the set complete. I need to get a hold of the adjuster barrels for the brakes, an origional headset, and the hubs for a 6 speed rear der. Also does anyone know how to find out about the serial number as to where to look?

WANTED:   information wanted posted by: Terrie on 5/24/2002 at 6:21:52 AM
I would like any info about the year of manufacture and worth of a Firestone Warrior Vagabond. Female, very good conditon, appears to be all original, no rust. Beautiful blue paint w/white pin stripe. Chrome rims,1 3/8 tires. (Rigida rims) are made in France.

RE:WANTED:   information wanted posted by Cal on 5/24/2002 at 1:16:09 PM
1 3/8 rims? Does it have a 3-speed Sturmey-Archer hub? If so it will have a date on it.

There's a 1960 Firestone Warrior in the picture database, but it is a middleweight (1.75 inch fatter tires)

RE:RE:WANTED:   information wanted posted by Terrie on 5/24/2002 at 5:57:55 PM
Thanks for your reply Cal. The bike has only 1 speed. And the rims say 1 3/8 on them. I suspect that the rims are not original since they are mad in France. But them I really don`t know much about bikes, I picked this on up for $15.00 at a flea market. I love the bike, don`t intend to sell it, just would like to know more about it. Thanks again for any help.
