MISC:   TOP brand bicycle info posted by: Shirley on 9/25/2002 at 4:11:00 AM
I need some help. I would like to know if anybody has even heard of this brand of bike. I recently bought this old bike at a flea market. It's called TOP bicycle.. it's a 20inch girls bike, pastel pink color and it has an older looking kickstand - one that's on the back of the frame which it actually lifts up the back tire (looks like a stationary bike).. If anybody has any info on it or knows where i could possibly look for info, please let me know.. Thank you for any responses

WANTED:   Double Pivot Bike posted by: Scott Anderson on 9/24/2002 at 10:27:00 PM
I saw this bike once, I think it was a schwinn. Anyways, it had two pivots one at the steering column, but another on the frame which allowed the bike to turn in very tight radii. If anyone has any ideas as to where I could find this it would be much appreciated. Please respond to my email at ultimatedmb17@yahoo.com

Thanks, Scott

You are looking for a Swing Bike. I had several of these and they are a hoot to ride. They are not Schwinn at all, the actual name of the bike and company was Swing Bike. They are no longer produced and command a good price when you find one in good condition. They pop up on ebay every so often so go there and search on Swing Bike. There are other more contemporary bikes that do this same trick but they are not a good looking or easy to find. There is even a larger version that was put out a couple of years ago. I believe there is even a web site dedicated to the original Swing Bike from the 70s so check your search browser to find it. Good Luck

My dad has a 1955(?) Schwinn Roadmaster and we are trying to figure out how much it's worth. Anyone have any ideas? Or where I could find out without it costing me a bunch of money.

RE:MISC:   Looking for a price posted by Gordon on 9/24/2002 at 4:46:57 AM
Saying you have a Schwinn Roadmaster is like saying you have a Chevrolet Ford. Which is it, Schwinn or Roadmaster? To determine an approximate value we also need to know what model (Phantom, Hornet, etc.), comleteness (tank, rack, light, etc.) and condition (original paint, rusty, etc.). Provide this info and someone can help you with a value.

Careful---there were Schwinn built bikes with Roadmaster headbadges. Much like the Schwinn built Excelsiors, Majestics, Hendersons, etc...

1958 was a early year for Raleigh made Robin Hood bikes and blue is a rare color! Most Robin Hoods are black.
