MISC:   Huffy Eldorado value? posted by: Jeff Turner on 11/20/2003 at 2:48:07 PM
We have an old Huffy Eldorado given to us by a great uncle who fixed up bikes many years ago. It has the original paint job on it, albeit very worn (a good restoration candidate?). I am not a collector of bikes but want to sell it. I was wondering what it might be worth in general? Again, the paint job is pretty beat up but most of the parts look to be original. The bike I think is from the late 50s or early 60s

FOR SALE:   Vintage Sulky Cycle for Sale posted by: Diane on 11/19/2003 at 9:12:46 PM
Beautiful Vintage Sulky Cycle. It is mostly metal, probably made around the 1940's, and consists of a
cart for a child to sit in, pedals like a
bicycle, and has a horse in the front which gives the illusion that the child is driving a horse cart. The horse is made of real fur with leather and brass trimmings, and the tires are solid rubber, made in Argentina.
There are several Spanish words on different parts, as well as the Flexible Flyer logo on the back of it. Measure 5 feet in length. Photos are available and will be uploaded shortly, or you can email me directly and I will be glad to forward them to you. Serious, reasonable offers only. Thank you.

MISC:   penneys slight-weight 3 posted by: chad hoerner on 11/19/2003 at 5:13:43 AM
manage a bike shop and came upon a very good condition (no rust, straight frame-wheels-fenders) ladies green bike. like the title says it says penneys on the head badge and slight-weight 3 on the chain guard. wheels are 26by 1 3/8, 333 three speed hub f w/333 brand right twist grip shifter (h, n, and l speed- what speed is n?) grips, saddle, perfect. only things out of wack is brake cables, left front fender strut a little bent, and missing orig. rear reflector. rides sweet! worth keeping dry or alright to use as commuter? thanks, chad

   RE:MISC:   penneys slight-weight 3 posted by Jeff R on 11/19/2003 at 12:31:57 PM
"H" is high "N" is normal "L" is low

I would call this a terrific commuter if you're comfortable on it. 333 is Shimano; their 3 speed hub is reliable and the twist grip shifter lends coolness. There is no rarity or collectable value- keep it well lubed and clean it after it's out in the rain, it'll last forever.

A $10 surcharge for using PayPal!?!?!?! That's criminal! You should not only be ashamed of yourself, but reported to eBay... such practices are in violation of their terms of service.

WANTED:   1966 Huffy Muscle Bike posted by: Rachel on 11/18/2003 at 10:02:43 PM
I'm very new to this so please bear with me. My boyfriend has described a bike he had as a kid and I'm trying to track one down for him. It's a 1966 (slightly possible it could be 1967)Huffy. The bike had a "shifter", padded sissy bar and the paint effect went from green to yellow. Can anyone help me out with this? Gosh I'd appreciate it!

RE:WANTED:   1966 Huffy Muscle Bike posted by SuperStuff on 11/19/2003 at 4:22:59 AM
Sounds like a Huffy Slingshot. Ask him it it had a small 16" front tire and a chrome chainguard.

RE:WANTED:   1966 Huffy Muscle Bike posted by Jim on 11/19/2003 at 9:46:37 PM
Hello Rachel,
SuperStuff sounds right on this being a Slingshot. There is one in the picture database on this website for you to check. Huffy stretched the frame on the Slingshot to give it more of a dragster look. They also had a twin stick shifter (the black one controlled the gears and the red one acted as a drag brake - with the woodgrain console they looked pretty sharp!). It also came with a Flaming Stack chainguard (torpedo shaped to look like a car exhaust pipe).
If you are looking for one, Ebay will be your best bet, aside from going to bike shows. They come up occasionally and expect to shell out some bucks for a nice one. Good luck in your search!

FOR SALE:   NOS front wheel motor kits. 1970s? posted by: steve wells on 11/18/2003 at 3:37:42 PM
I just purchased a storage unit full of NOS bicycles and parts still in original boxes from the 60s and 70s. No Schwinn parts, 6 complete motorized front ends, 1 new tandem motorized bike, 2 Swing bikes, 6 Asso ten speeds, folding bikes, electric bikes, tons of lights, sissybars, reflectors, derailleurs, cranks, handlebars, wheels, tires, 300 banana seats, shop equiptment, you name it. Names like Shimano, Wald, Campangolo, Soma, and many more brands. 4 unpainted, unstamped 60s Stingray looking frames, pedals. Totally overwhelming for me. I collect motorcycles and know very little about bicycles. Please call me at 703-307-3204 if interested.
