FOR SALE:   vintage wool jerseys and tights posted by: A L F on 2/12/2003 at 6:34:41 AM
I have several vintage, wool mostly, jerseys and tights. These are Cinelli,Tomaso, and Ergal. Some with Campagnolo USA tags below Cinelli&Co. These are 80/20 wool/acrylic. Size is mediumish, various colors.
A Giordana pok-a-dot jersey and A Campagnolo / Tomaso Cycling long sleeve jersey, both cotton/poly blend and large sizes.
I have digital pictures and size info available. Condition of the wool ranges from very good to gnawd on, but this stuff is original and still good enough for sportin on a cold parade day or group ride. You'll need suspenders for the 'tights'
The Campagnolo USA tag dates back to when Campy was located here in Houston.
Anyone interested can buzz me for info or make me an offer for the lot.

Hi Guys
I just found a vintage bicycle with a belt and pully instead of the the chain and sprocket drive. I never seen one before ,does anyone have any info on these types of vintage bicycles

I do not know anything about them although I have seen a couple of them. The ones i have seen were both small bikes with very small wheels, maybe 12",I think maybe 1920/30's.

I beleive they made a belt drive option on the schwinn cruiser once, I don't remember where I saw it, but I'll look and get back.

Thanks, SGT or GT? And do you happen to remember if it was 100% 600 equipped, or just drivetrain and brakes?

RE:WANTED:   1980 Ross catalog posted by ken on 2/10/2003 at 10:42:03 PM
My Super Gran Tour retailed for just over $200 in 1979. The Shimano 600 equipment was limited to brake levers, hoods, and calipers, downtube shift levers (with the purty culicues), front and rear derailleurs, 170mm crankset and 52/42 chainwheels, and a gold-colored Shimano UG - CL Japan freewheel. I'll email you the rest of the misc. parts. This bike would have been really nice if it had been about four pounds lighter.

Joe:
I e-mailed you separately, reply with your address & I will send you the Assembly & Operating booklet that came packed with mine. Don't really need or want it & unfortunately the outside 2 or 3 pages are eaten away by moths or mice or something (look like Swiss Cheese!) It does have quite a few illustrations but most of them are of the Gran Tour components with only a few of the Shimano 600 components.

Thanks for the info, it looks like I have the correct crankset, and derailleurs, but just need to figure out the correct b.b. axle.
I found another problem though, I have noticed quite alot of rust in the left rearframe stay. It appears to be started from the inside. I may need to find a better frame for the SGT. The GT frame looks good. Maybe, somebody has a 25" frame they aren't using any longer?
I can always use the GT frame but it has minor differences such as the welded on lugs for the lower cables would have to be removed to allow the frame shifter to be mounted. I really don't want to sacrifice one for the other either. Of course with a 25" frame, a low shifter is quite a reach and using a stem shifter would work well too even if I found another GT frame.
