FOR SALE:Sturmey Archer 3 speed in 20 inch rim posted by: Stuart on 3/18/2003 at 5:05:59 AM
Up for sale is a Sturmey Archer 3 Speed in the hub in a 20 inch rim. The rim is not Schwinn. I am not sure exactly what it is. Both parts are in pristine condition with no scratches at all. This is very hard to find since this is 36 spokes. You have to have custom made spokes to do this.
Make me an offer.
Thanks,
Stuart

Sounds like a time trial bike. Those don't go cheap.

They don't ride comfortably, either, but that's not the point.

Probably $500.

Need one for a 1985 lugged steel Japanese frame (Apollo, made by Kuwahara). The nut would have 2 tabs that fit into notches cast in the seat-lug, so I guess you would call it keyed. thanks

Sheldon Brown?

RE:WANTED:14 posted by Ken on 3/14/2003 at 11:25:45 PM
Strangely, Sheldon Brown's excellent page on tire sizing http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire_sizing.html doesn't mention 14 inch tires at all. And it leaves the reader with the fear that even if you found one it might not be right... I've got a Japan-made Schwinn juvenile with 14" tires, but haven't even asked the LBS about them. A regular Schwinn dealer, not WadMart, might know. Please post the result if you find 'em.

14 X 1 3/8? How perished is perished?
what does the tire say on it?

RE:WANTED:14 posted by paul on 3/16/2003 at 2:14:05 AM
I have a Bickerton folder made in Birmingham England in 1976 the front tire is 14 X 1 and 3/8 and the rear tire is 16 X 1 and 3/8. I wrote to a person in England who deals in Bickerton and he has the tires and tubes. He gave me a price and when I attempted to request quote and place an order for two of each plus shipping to Boston MA USA, I did not hear back. Type in Bickerton or Folding Bicycle Society and you'll find him, I believe he's in Dorset. Hope this helps! Paul
