FOR SALE:   MINTY SWING BIKE posted by: Tom on 4/28/2003 at 5:19:36 PM
Greetings;

I bought a bunch of parts for my VW rabbit last year from an old guy who happens to have a SUPER minty YELLOW SWING BIKE hanging from the rafters of his garage. I didn't have the money to buy it at the time, so I didn't. I could buy it now, but I think I'd want to sell it again. I'm mainly interested in custom beach cruisers, so that's what I'm really looking for.

The Swing Bike is, as far as I remember, entirely original and very LOW miles; apparently he wouldn't even let his kids ride it. Interesting guy. Told me all about the Swing Bike legal issues and the warehouse fire... . Anyway, IF I'm right, and IF he still has it, this is probably one of the NICEST examples you're ever going to find. Way too nice for me to own and ride. If you're interested you can email me at umdobso4@cc.umanitoba.ca or you can post here too.
Tom

If it wasn't obvious, the old guy that I'm talking about is the original and current owner.

I bought the bike. Several people have expressed interest. I'll keep you all posted on what I decide to do with it. Pretty cool ride!

Just where do these dildos come from?

Don't they realize that they paint such a negative image for all hispanics and low rider fans everywhere? A healthy dose of maturity would go a long way!

Hello fellow collectors/hobbyists. My new book, Classic Schwinn Bicycles-Collector's Library, is packed with photos and details about all of the cool old Schwinns. Detailed text and 250 photos describe the entire history of Schwinn models from 1895-present. Aerocycles, Autocycles, Motorbikes, Whizzers, Cycle Trucks, Paramounts, Sting-Rays, Krates, Corvettes, Jaguars, Typhoons, just to name a few, are all represented. Identification and dating methods are explained, along with a star-rating system that shows collectibility. The publisher is Motorbooks (MBI), and it can be found at motorbooks.com, amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and other outlets. Thanks for your support and interest in these cool old bikes!

Are the photos in the book color or BW?

   RE:RE:MISC:   New Classic Schwinn Book posted by William Love on 4/28/2003 at 3:56:49 PM
The 250 photos are B&W captioned shots of bicycles currently owned by collectors. Many books contain factory archive shots of prototypes or pre-production bikes; this book shows the bikes that really exist today, and have been in circulation foar years.
