WANTED:   any info. posted by: Leeanne on 11/15/2004 at 5:43:09 PM
I was hoping to find any information about a bicycle I had when I was a kid. It was about 1979, or 1980, I dont know who made it, but it was yellow and green and had a banana seat with a picture of a pea pod on it. It said "sweet pea" on the chain guard. It was pretty goofy looking, and I would love to see it again if anyone knows where I can get any info. Thanks!

WANTED:   wanted: '66 schwinn handlebars, any condtion posted by: the dude on 11/12/2004 at 5:08:34 AM
Hi, I'm looking for a set of the "odd" 1966 schwinn stingray handlebars, the ones like on the delux stingray here: http://oldroads.com/pqdb_img.asp?p=http://members.aol.com/VVVintage2/disp/deluxe.gif&mod=Sting-Ray_Deluxe&mak=Schwinn
conditon of the bars doesn't matter, rust is fine, as there going to be spray painted for one of my crazy bicycle creations.

WANTED:   hercules front badge posted by: Charl Cilliers on 11/7/2004 at 5:06:55 PM
Hi

As mentioned I am restoring a 1950-something Hercules. It needs a front badge as the existing one is damaged. Also hard to find in South Africa. Ps, how would I determine the exact age of my bicycle?

RE:WANTED:   hercules front badge posted by Gordon on 11/10/2004 at 3:43:16 PM
I might have a badge, I'll check in the warehouse. You should be able to determine the age of your bike by examining the rear hub for a date, i.e. "59".

The frame in the warehouse has a badge, but it is fairly small and riveted on - I doubt if I could remove it without damaging it.

RE:WANTED:   hercules front badge posted by Charl on 11/12/2004 at 10:51:19 AM
Hi

Thanks for your responses to my toggle chain and badge request. I manged to find a badge on eBay and a second-hand toggle chain in a neighbouring town. I dont think the badge is exactly the same as the one that was originally on the bike, but better than nothing I suppose. I also fitted it with a Raleigh leather saddle. It probably originally came with a Brooks saddle... Anyway, I will post a pic of the bike when it is "done"... I also have an old Achilles bicycle (a South African make) in near perfect condition. I'll post a pic of that sometime too.

Hi

I am looking for a Sturmey Archer 3 speed toggle chain. Very difficult to find spares in South Africa. I have recently started collecting and restoring old bicycles and am working on a 1950-something Hercules.
Please help!

RE:WANTED:   sturmey archer 3-speed toggle chain posted by Kurt K on 11/9/2004 at 12:28:23 AM
Would you be referring to the 'trigger shifter' on the handlebars, or the cable that runs down to the hub?

Take care,

Kurt
