FOR SALE:   Santana Tandem For Sale posted by: Mark Perkins on 4/10/2004 at 3:13:31 PM
I realize that this is not very old, only 21-years, but I am hoping that there will be someone out there who will be interested in this bicycle:

For Sale: 1983 Santana Tandem with 22” front & 21” rear seat tube lengths. Ishiwata chrome-moly lugless steel frame & fork with investment cast fork crown, and 4-sets of brazed-on bosses with Blackburn alloy water bottle cages. This is what Santana called the “marathon” style frame, and is about the strongest steel (and maybe any material) tandem money can buy, and it tracks like it’s on rails. Original “Mojave Sand” metallic paint. Phil Wood hubs with Super Champion Mod. 58, 48 spoke rims, DT stainless steel spokes, and new 27 x 1-1/4” Continental tires. TA tandem crankset with a 56 tooth big chainring, and sealed cartridge bottom brackets (Edco front, Sun Tour rear - plus a spare Sun Tour BB). Edco alloy headset. 18-speed gearing with Sun Tour bar-end shifters, Sun Tour front derailleur, and Shimano Crane GS rear derailleur with Bullseye pulleys. Mafac cantilever brakes (with Matthauser pads) front & rear on a double brake lever, plus an Arai rear drum brake on a separate brake lever. Specialized handlebars with brown leather handlebar tape. Blackburn front & rear racks. Includes under-seat spare bag with spare tubes, and a Specialized computer. No pedals or saddles (you wouldn’t want what I have on it anyway). These tandems sold new for $2,750.00 without the racks, bottle cages, computer, spare bag & pump. I am asking $1,800.00 o.b.o. Please, I don’t want to have to deal with shipping a bike this big, and at the present time I cannot deliver it, so I will have to limit sales to persons within range of, and willing to drive to Fresno, CA. For Sale: 23”/59cm (c to t) Bianchi “Nuova Racing”, early 80’s (Campy NR rear der. is dated 81); Columbus tubing - probably three main tubes because decal, shich is cracked, and located just below lower head lug looks like it says “TRITUBI”, and the seat tube decals are slightly wrinkled; braze-on top tube cable guides, BB guides, chainstay housing stop, and bosses for 1 bottle on down tube; dropouts have Gianchi stamped (cast ?) into them, and are horizontal type with adjusters; headbadge is rectangular and appears to be made of aluminum; Celeste paint, Selle Italia saddle, cable housing, Binda Extra toe-straps; Cinelli cork handlebar tape (slightly soiled), water bottle cage (says Bianchi on it), and Bianchi/Campagnolo water bottle; Ale chrome toe clips; Campagnolo Nuovo Record front & rear derailleurs (front has 3 holes in outer cage plate) and downtube shifters (brazed-on); crankarms have “Bianchi” script on the front, and no other identifying markings except 9/16-20 and 170 strada on the backs, but the chainwheel bolts are a mixture of Sakae, Sugino & Ofmega (previous owner), which leads me to believe that the crank is made by Ofmega - it looks a lot like Campy; Ofmega low-flange hubs, QR’s, headset, and pedals with plack alloy cages; TTT handlebars (some scratches near stem) and stem; Universal Mod. 77 side-pull brakes (no rubber on hoods and some scratches on levers); Mavic Module ‘E’ 700C narrow rims, 36 SS spokes/wheel; in the photo there are two sets of wheels, the ones on the bike at the time ot the photo are Campy NR small flange/Super Champion Arc En Ciel with DT SS spokes and green treaded Vittoria sew-ups, and the ones next to the bike are the original wheels. This bike is in really good condition, and I have ridden it but it is too big for me, so I have only ridden it a couple of times, but it rides really smooth and straight. I am asking $375.00 for the bike with the original wheels, and if anyone is interested in the Campy sew-up wheels with green treaded tires, I will take $175.00 for those (no freewheel). Buyers in United States, lower 48 states only please. Buyer pays shipping charges.

For Sale: Campagnolo chrome-plated steel, small-flange, 36 hole, QR front hub, looks like new.

For Sale: Very rare Schwinn Sting-ray wind shield. NOS, and in original cardboard box and original plastic bag with artwork of the wind shield printed on the bag. All original, unused, hardware in original paper packaging. Includes original instruction sheet. I have had 3 of these over the past 30-years, the first one I sold on a Sting-ray Mini-twinn tandem in 1984. The second one I sold to a friend for $80.00, and he sold it on eBay six months later for $300.00, around 1997/8. This is my last one, and it is in perfect, un-scratched condition. The box is not in very good condition, but it is the reason the rest is like new. I have pictures if you are interested. I am asking $500.00 o.b.o. My mother-in-law wants to sell her old Raleigh 3 speed bicycle. It is black, in pretty good condition, and taking up space in her basement. It was always kept inside so there is very little rust, just a lot of dust from sitting idle all of these years.

Hi I'm trying to find out info on two older bikes found on curb. One is Pacific 'Nitron' 5 speed (external) cow-horn handle bars, 20 x 1.95 tires, Shimano Equipped. C-Star front and rear brakes.
Other in Huffy 'Runner' very similar to other bike, same era. 5 Speed, front and read Lee-Chi brakes, and techtra dérailleur? (not sure if my bike terminology is right on that)
Really appreciate any help with info on these. Are they collectible? I like them and did a quick turn around when I saw them on curb. A lot like the old white John Deere Mixte bike this board helped me find info on a year ago, these were found in same manner. Thanks!
Den.

From looking at your pictures...the Huffy and Pacific are not very old..maybe 5-6 years... unfortunately not collectable... but good charity write offs...

The Monkey wards open road was made by Huffy (see Huffy Thunder trail) and was probably from the late 70's ..1978? It may have some value to an old-school BMX collector but it looks a little rough condition-wise.
