WANTED:   40's-50's posted by: Heather on 10/3/2005 at 8:58:56 PM
Hi everyone! I am trying to find a vintage schwinn, from between the 40's and 50's - with balloon tires, headlight, center tank, etc. I would go for a male model but prefer a female. I am having a hard time finding them except on ebay but I am weary to buy as pictures aren't always clear. I am trying not to spend $500 on it as I am just a college student who appreciates quality vintage items, an old soul! I also would be willing to buy a bike in less than stellar condition but I have no idea as to the cost of reconditioning or for that matter who can do it - I live in Ann Arbor, MI - any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated! TIA :)

I may have what you are looking for.... I have several old schwinn's. Most of what i have has recently come from a barn in southern mn so they are not in the greatest condition although they are very restorable. Most of the bikes i have are complete minus the tank, tanks are kind of hard to find these days but if you have a bike and watch ebay or the forums you could probably pick one up fairly reasonable if you want a completely restored bike you are looking at more than $500 i can sell you a good condition frame mechanically reconditioned with new tires for about $150-250 depending on the year and model. If interested i can mail you some pictures of what i currently have in stock. Alot of the fun in vintage bicycles is the reconditioning process! Thanks Dave

Has anyone ever heard of or seen a CCM bicycle? It is i'm guessing a mid 60's 3speed with full fenders also has CCM cut into the front sprocket. Very cool bike and in exceptional shape. Any information you could provide would be grealy appreciated

You didn't check the Picture Database?
Canadian Cycle and Motors is, as Sheldon might say, the 800 lb gorilla of Canadian cycles.

MISC:   1971or 72 Schwinn bmx bike ? posted by: Ron on 10/2/2005 at 3:30:25 AM
Hi I was wonderring what the value of a Schwinn Stingray bmx bike is valued at. I understand condition means everything. This bike has wide tires front and rear with heavy duty spokes(almost like motorcycle rims). It also has flat aluminum fenders. It cost about $170.00 when I was a kid. I have never seen one like it!!!! Thanks Ron
