WANTED:   Handlebar/ Stem- Schwinn "Super-Sport" posted by: Phil Smith on 1/24/2005 at 8:03:28 PM
Hi-I'm in the process of locating/buying parts for restoration of a 1963 Schwinn Super Sport. The original handlebar/stem had "Sport" engraved on both sides of the handlebar (or maybe it was a sleeve, I've just seen photos) and the stem had "Super" engraved on the neck...Anybody have these or can give a lead on these item(s)? All help will be much appreciated! Thanks! -PSmith

These are the bars Phil is referring to:

Phil -- you've been corresponding with Eric Amlie, right? May I ask what the serial number is of your Super Sport? I've only seen one other that had a '63 date code (December).

Thanks,

MISC:   60's Columbia Thunderbolt posted by: Jenifer on 1/23/2005 at 8:15:35 PM
My father-in-law has a 1962 girl's Columbia Thunderbolt, 26 inches (I think), that is in pretty good overall shape. The tires need replacing, but the original paint, seat, handlebars, etc. are all there. What is this worth, if anything? He's wondering if he should trash it, restore it, or just sell it. Any info anyone can give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

My friend just acquired a 1966, men's Sears Spaceliner, which needs minor refurbishing, such as tail light, new tank, new tires(26 x 1.75), plus needs to know how to correctly remove light rust from chrome. Can anyone direct me to whom he should contact please? Thanks, Diana
