FOR SALE:   Quick Question posted by: Josh Moulton on 1/4/2005 at 4:44:44 AM
My dad has recently been cleaning out our shed and has discovered his old bicycle frame that he had as a young child. It was then a complete but now only a frame. My question is he knows it's made by Mattel and it is supposed to be 'rare'. It has shocks on the back of it. I can provide pictures for anyone who would have any information on this bicycle frame whatsoever. Thanks. I will appreciate any help anybody can provide for me. Thanks for your time.

WANTED:   In search of a Monark I think posted by: Aaron Bowen on 12/29/2004 at 3:20:48 PM
I'd like to give my dad the bike he had when he was a kid for his birthday. All I know is that the emblem on the bike was a kind of crown (I'm assuming this is the Monark company label) and that it had "Corvair" painted on it? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If so, how much should I expect to pay for such a bike in fair-excellent condition? Any info helps.

That sounds like a 60s huffy (they owned Monark at the time). I've seen the Corvair model with Huffy, Sears, and Monark emblems. It should not be hard to find or expensive.

I just reacquired a late 80's-early 90's Panasonic DX-2000 roadbike. I'm not sure what to really do with it but am thinking of turning it into a cyclocross bike. Does anyone out there know anything about these bikes? If so I would appreciate any information that you can provide. Thanks

FOR SALE:   what I found****!!!!! posted by: roach on 12/26/2004 at 12:17:43 AM
hello,
you all are not going to guess what I found, less than a quarter mile from my house a guy told me there were a few bikes for sale, so I went to look and they werent much to speak of. BUt as I turned to leave I noticed over the hill a trailour with a rim sticking out. as I went to take a look I saw more bikes and as I removed the tarp (yes they were outdoors) I counted 31 bikes. not just any bikes there were stingrays, typhoons, spaceliners, color flow's rollfasts, elgins,
J.C. higgins more mostly early fifties, western flyers, probably twenty had tanks, there were so many of the rare hard to find parts, all are 99.9 percent original, little rust, well you get the drift. It was a balloon tire classic bike gold mine, thousands of dollars worth of collectable bikes.
so to make a long story short I went to my friend got the owners ph. # when I called he said he wanted 500.00 for them all. but there was a guy that was suppose to buy them, and he said he would see if he still wanted them and if not he would call me. needless to say i have been back by there just to look about 6 times since. the last time I went back a schwinn typhoon fell out of the pile in excelent all original condition, I cant believe they are out in the open and not even locked up. any way I will keep everyone posted weather or not i GET THEM if I do I am sure I will be able to free quite a few oldies to you all.
