In search of an older Raleigh or look-a-like that is in good usable condition. Do not want a museum quality bike. Prefer to deal with someone in the Los Angeles, Ca. area.

You might want to post this over on the English Roadster discussion board. Tends to be the place where the "Anglophiles" hang out.

Best of luck!

I just got in 2, one mens and one womens Raliegh sport. They are silver and they are original stock right down to the tire. I also have the owners manuals. They are not super mint but they are as close as the can be. The paint has some scuffs. I am in michigan but these are a find, let me know if you would like more info.

FOR SALE:    posted by: Ken on 3/10/2005 at 3:01:03 AM
Spring cleaning! I have done some ebays and may again, but first I’m offering these for pickup not far from Chicago in hopes of avoiding having to pack and ship. Pictures on request. Prices are fair but feel free to make offer.
Peugeot ’75 or 76 PA10 frame and Stronglight 49 crankset- orginal fork was damaged, now has Japanese fork, but I saved the headset and the Atax stem and bars- seat tube has a ding near the front derailleur clamp, not obvious; Simplex dropouts. As described, $50 (figuring the cranks would part out about that much), or with Weinmann Carrera calipers and true wheels (700c), right about 25 lbs ready for the street, $100.
Ca 1980 Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2, tall (24in) black/chrome made in Japan frame. This one had a stuck seat post removed the hard way, with a one-inch drill, and has damage to the top of the seat tube but is straight and roadworthy. Nice chrome forged dropouts. Frame, fork and BB $20.
Early, ca. 1981 Trek 413 (Reynolds 531 main) grey 21in frame with a dent in the seat tube where the blue wrap graphic starts. Suntour dropouts. Frame, fork and BB $20
Nishiki "Colorado" mtn bike, mid-eighties?, approx 24" frame, 21 speed Suntour $75
1970 Schwinn Twinn, good alloy wheels, very faded paint, you can have the original wheels too, $130
1967 Schwinn Deluxe Racer, S-A 3-speed, so-so $25
Red Peugeot mixte ’78? serial number on left rear dropout Y805 26740. Mafac CP brakes, north road bars, Atax alloy stem, Weinmann alloy levers with black dots, nice chrome fenders with black stripe and factory rack, Rigida Chrolux steel rims, wingnut hubs, 700c x35 tires, Simplex derailleurs- front broken and missing its cage but I may have an extra one to throw in $40
Raleigh Super Course MKII, ca 1974, green/white, not stock but I have most of the original bits including the Brooks saddle, faded but turns heads $100
1959 Schwinn cantilever, apparently was a Tiger, repaint with wrong everything, but a swell rider $30
Schwinn Traveler (not the lightweight, the "English" style) with Bendix Automatic 2-speed kickback in need of overhaul, black, no longer has the factory generator set but looks pretty good, $50
