MISC:   converti-cycle posted by: Paul Holdsworth on 7/18/2005 at 2:26:07 AM
I found a bike that was being thrown out called a "converti-cycle" it's a girls frame, candy red with a medium sissy bar, perfect silver metalflake banana seat, and huge ape hanger bars. It's in decent shape and I was just wondering if anyone could give me any info on this brand of bike. Thanks in advance. Paul

best bet is to find one on ebay, wait till it ends and see what it went for. watch a few. some go for $100.00 and some go for almost $1000.00. I dont think I've seen one go for more than that.

My wife and I just purcased an older Schwinn girls bike with the serial number stamped on the back left fork. The number is--E847915--we have searched the web and we believe it is either a 1958 or a 1952(best guess) to the best of our knowledge it is all original even down to the 25x1.75 tires and front basket. It has dark blue or black seat with the white in the front. The bike has been painted a muted dark blue color. All of the chrome is rusted. We paid $35.00: was that it good price?
Our question is: what year is it and do we have to purchase new chrome rims and forks etc ar can they be restored to some form of attractivness?
Thanks and waithing for a reply
