FOR SALE:   FS: 1957 COLUMBIA BUILT GOODYEAR BIKE WITH TANK - $200 posted by: Marc on 8/10/2006 at 7:50:53 PM
1957 Columbia built goodyear bike in good condition. This is one of the what I like to call tweeners in the late 50's. It is a middleweight bike with 26 x 1.75 tires with a tank like the ballooner bikes from 1935 to 1955 or so. No horn in tank. These are hard to find bikes as they started to go to middleweights with no tanks around this time. Great teal color. Tires are allstate WW's in poor condition. They have a couple of rips in them and will not work as riders but are period correct. Seat is probably not correct. Everything else is as far as I can tell. Serial number is C203923. $200 plus shipping. Check out my craigslist ad for pics. Link below. You will have to cut and paste link. Thanks, Marc

FOR SALE:warning there is a thief on this board ripping off people posted by: Scott on 8/9/2006 at 9:22:45 AM
Hi, there is a guy on this board selling stuff he never delivers. his name is "Gus" Gary McFarland pinstriper1943@hotmail.com he sold me a bike and asked me to pay with Paypal, so I wouldn't have his address, and never shipped the bike. he even had the guts to ask for more money after he had the first payment. it has been 3 months and all I get is "it's going to be shipped this week, I was out of town, I had to work, UPS wouldn't come and pick it up, the box is too big, they want more shipping" you get the idea. watchout for this guy he's a crook and a liar.

Going though PAYPAL you can always file a complaint and get your money back. And PAYPAL deals with the problem, Worked for me.

MISC:   schwinn stingray posted by: MSS on 8/8/2006 at 5:53:18 PM
I have a Purple schwinn stingray 3 speed with stick shift that I spent two summer vacations restoring. it is all original except for the new rear slick. The slick is a 2.25". the bike is virtually rust free, but recently the pin in the internal gear popped out, but that is easily fixed. i beleive this bike was made in 1967, and because it is a stock purple it is very rare. please email me if know anything about this bike, its value or interested in purchasing it.

You can check out your serial# by clicking on to the serial# charts on this site; second letter in the serial# stands for the year ('C' is 1967) while the 1st is for the month.
