MISC:   Walton Frame posted by: Steve Olson on 8/12/2007 at 8:08:19 AM
Hello,

I found a bike for sale yesterday that was of high quality, all Shimano 600 group but the frame was a Walton. Never heard of this and I suspect that it must be a custom frame builder. Anyone know.

Thanks.

I have a blue Sears bike with the markings 'Sakal Custom' and 'Road Champion' engraved on the handlebars. The bike is in near-mint condition and I'm trying to track down any info about the bike including, accurate model name and value. Thanks!

those Sakai handlebars appear on lots of different brands of bikes. You can probably date your bike from its components, including the hubs, derailleurs and brakes- but if it doesn't have a model name on it, you'll have to find a catalog AFTER you date it and look for comparables. However, don't expect this machine to have any significant value unless you find, for example, 'Campagnolo' or 'Reynolds 531' on it.
