FOR SALE:   Western Flyer "Special Edition" posted by: Bill on 9/10/2007 at 8:06:15 AM
A friend & I came across a Western Flyer for sale in a small antique shop. It's a red and white boys 26" bike. It is red and white, tank & rack. Fenders are red with one stripe and a chrome light on front fender. Bike looks to be original & excellent condition as we were told. Were told tires were original. They show little signs of wear, are dry rotted a bit, but made in Taiwan. We know little of vintage bikes other than our memory. We were most familar with goodrich and goodyear tires. Could the tires be original from Taiwan? Any knowledg of "Special Edition:? Special Edition if on the tank sticker under Western Flyer.

Sounds like one of many "replicas" made in the 80's. They made a few styles, some red and some green. See if it has a "circa 1950" mark on the front headbadge, not a real date but it means made to resemble that period. Made by Columbia for Western Flyer, Western Auto.

WANTED:   1960s/1970s Schwinn Fairlady - in Hawai'i!! posted by: Carolyn on 9/10/2007 at 2:02:31 AM
Hi! I am looking for a 1960s/1970s Schwinn Fairlady (the Stingray-type model, not the 1950s Fairlady) in rideable condition.... The catch is, I'm on the island of O'ahu in Hawai'i, and I can't afford to have one shipped to me. If anybody has one of these in Hawai'i, let me know! Thank you!
