WANTED:Varoom Tricycle 1964 Mattel posted by: Carter on 1/9/2008 at 10:19:03 PM
I am looking for information about a Varoom Tricycle I had around 1963-65. I believe it was made by Mattel. It was a standard tricycle with a noise-making "motor" mounted in the middle of the handlebars that would revv when the lever was pulled down. Totally Cool and I would love to get one for my grandchildren to enjoy! (forget that I would love to relive my childhood!)

FOR SALE:1968 Scwinn Sting-Ray 5-Speed For Sale posted by: sean on 1/9/2008 at 11:30:35 AM
I have a 1968 Schwinn boy's 5-speed Sting-Ray musclebike for sale. The tires are original schwinn and in good shape. The wheels, frame and fork are all original to the bike and are all schwinn. The rest of the parts are all correct schwinn as well including all of the original nuts, bolts, screws, and hardware used. All of it is original schwinn. The gooseneck and crank are dated '68 on them but the handlebars are 1969.It has the correct seat in the correct color but it needs to be either recovered or replaced. The pan is good. The frame and fork were repainted at some point and it needs rechroming on most of the chrome. The chrome is in typical average condition. The frame and fork are straight and this is a standard sting-ray so it never had fenders on it from the factory. It has its original 5-speed stik shift with overload tube (in nice shape), and its original coppertone grips on the handlebars (also in nice shape). The original factory color was coppertone. The chainguard is an original chrome schwinn one to accomadate the schwinn mag sprocket. It has the original schwinn derailuer and original schwinn derailuer guard, both need chromeing. This is pretty much done as far as parts go. It really just needs a nice seat, a repaint, decals, and rechroming. The hardware should be zinc plated. This can be done by most chrome places. However the hardware used has good markings on the heads, good slots that are not marred and nuts that are not rounded off. This pretty much just re-paint, re-decal, zinc-plate the bolts, re-chrome, replace the seat and ride. The hard work, (correct, quality, original, period-correct parts) is done. $450.00 If interested let me know. I also am looking for Murray Eliminators, Firecats, Kingkats, AMF Flying Wedge bikes, Swing-Bikes, and parts for them. I have lots of banana bike and muscle bike stuff and some older stuff too. 1-920-850-5389. Call or leave message on voicemail anytime.

I just picked up an old Motobecame grand tourister but it does not have the original rims, short of that everything else is original as I can tell. so there's the dilemma, I am embarking on a restoration, and need vintage rims to go with my vintage bike to complete the package.
