the most interesting thing about those bikes are the modifications. The crank arm extensions are very odd (did you say your grandfather made them??) And what was on the back of the girl's bike? Was it a homemade engine kit?

FOR SALE:   LaFrance & Elgin posted by: Laura on 7/6/2008 at 12:57:21 PM
Hello, I found these bikes in my grandparents barn. How much do you think I could ask for them? One is a LaFrance and one is an Elgin. One of them has custom pedals that my grandpa made. I am located in the Chicago area if anyone wants to see them or make an offer.

Thanks,
Laura

I have a Denult 3 speed 28" mens bike. It is in very fair shape. Needs a cleaning, a shift cable, and tires. It has the original rod brakes, and all the original parts. I am not sure what to ask, I found this website "old road" by mistake. Let me know if you are intrested. Terry tsine@rochester.rr.com
