| My son was given a Raleigh Sprite and we would like some info on it if possible. Head badge says made in England, has Huret shifters and derailleurs, pinch bolt cranks (Raleigh?),Sturmey-Archer hubs with no date code. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joel.|
| The Sprite, 27" wheel version was a post 1968 built model. |
It was pretty much an upright version of the Raleigh Record. There were a few 27" three speed versions out there as well, but most were 10 speed with the Raleigh/Huret derailleur set up. They switched to Raleigh branded Suntour derailleurs in '77 or '78.
They were decent bikes, not top of the line but very solid rides.
