FOR SALE:   Gorgeous Vintage Trek 710 posted by: Michael Wolfe on 5/30/2008 at 4:24:09 PM
I'm selling a vintage, silver brazed 1982 Trek 710 on behalf of my father. It's a 60 cm frame, with steel Reynolds 531 tubing. It's got a SunTour drivetrain with Superbe brakes. It's really in gorgeous shape. A couple scuffs on the drive side chainstay, and some minor scuffs on the top tube. Otherwise perfect, with a beautiful lusterous blue paint job. Asking $750. I'm in the Portland, Oregon area, but will happily ship the bike. Buyer covers shipping costs.

Pictures can be seen here (I'm also selling the Klein that's depicted in that set, but that's not really relevant to this forum): http://flickr.com/photos/49813305@N00/sets/72157594160880548/

Thanks for your attention!

Most likely built by Steyr-Daimler-Puch in Austria. Many research libraries have microfilms of Sears catalogs. Surf over to the Sears website to see if you can find one near you.

WANTED:   A specific Weinmann brake lever posted by: Kurt K on 5/29/2008 at 6:15:22 PM
Hello fellows,

Just curious - does anyone have a Weinmann lever like the one on the left in the attached picture (with the small perforations) that they'd part with? Looking for one (only one - don't need a pair) with preferably no substantial road rash, for my '70 all-chrome Paramount.

Take care,

-Kurt

I'll check and see if I have one. I would not be surprised that I have one - not sure of condition, though. I'll let you know.

Thank you Gralyn. Let me know (send me an email - I don't check this forum that often) if you happen to find one. I don't mind if I have to do a big polishing job on it - just so long as there is minimal road rash.

Take care,

-Kurt

I'm looking for any history on the oval "annaversary" headbadge on the 1970 Raleigh's - was it used on all models, or just the high end bikes..Professional, International, etc. Any truth to the rumer it was designed by a Tour De France winner ?
