I have a 68' Schwinn. I bought a 20" speedo with the company "king" marked on it. The drive unit seems a little too fat to fit inside the fork. Do I need a Schwinn brand speedo? Can I just find a Schwinn drive to use? Has anyone run into this prob before?

I was looking for some help with my speedo problem. There seems to be another Dan two posts below this one that is not liked too well. I am pretty new to this site. If you are not posting to my problem because you think I am him, please be assured I am not. I guess there is no way to prove this, but I would like some help. Thanks, Merry X-Mas:)

AGE / VALUE:   Western Flyer Buzz Bike posted by: Dan on 12/15/2001 at 1:19:26 PM
I have a Buzz Bike that is purple fade. Should this bike be a solid color or I'm I looking at fading from age ? All the chrome is cleaning up nice only the handlebar has been affected by deeper rust, should I re-chrome or replace it and with what a repro or can I still find an NOS handlebar? And what value range is given for the Western Flyer Buzz Bike? Thanks!

Ha Ha! That's what you get for picking up a dime store bike, no one even wants to talk with you about it. Why don't you put a basket on it, set it in your front yard with flowers in it and watch the bees buzz your buzz bike. I'm sure it will be the talk of the insect world.

Hey butchie boy,Why you dissin this bike for?I think people that want to fix stuff that's not mainstream is cool.Gives people a chance to see something different. There was no reason for the reply you gave.

Maybe I was wrong by posting as my "Alter-Ego" Butchie boy. My intention's were to get some type of reply to my original post by having someone showing "Butch" that there are fans of these alternative brands who know the answers to the question's I asked. I'm sorry I disrupted the serious nature of this forum. "Laugh-a-little,live-alot be someone you know your not" Dan(I think)

Hey Dan... I was thumbing thru the dictionary to day and came across the word Dildo, guess what... they had your picture! Funny is funny, humor is humor but cruel is cruel and dude you were cruel with a capital "C". Go stand in the corner!

Factory fades are cool, I've seen a girls Huffy with a two tone blue fade that was unbelivable. Why didn't AS&Co do this? Hummmm.... I'l bet "it took to much time" and would cut into production.

Well Vinnie...I may have been wrong to diss myself like I did. Let me make it up to all of you while I tell you about the mom & pop Schwinn shop in my rural Illinois town. I stopped in this past summer and mom was exicited about another Krate bike which an older lady had called her shop to come and get out of her garage. Didn't ask what mom what she paid for it, I was under the impression that the schwinn shop owners got it for no cost, the older lady just wanted it out of her garage. This mom & pop schwinn shop has been around for quite some time serving our small community. Mom is proud of her Krate bike's at last count I believe she had at least ten in the back room which I saw in various stages of completion from 5-6 complete Krates,3-4 project bike's and get this two Krates which have never been built up, unsure of the years of the NIB Krates. I never asked if any of the Krates were for sale, at the time I hadn't started collecting yet. This shop is for sale now, mom & pop are wanting to retire, don't know if the Krates are part of the deal but there's a gold mine NOS Schwinn part's in the back that would turn you into a big pile of drool. Dan
