AGE / VALUE:   Help - Find Serial Number Schwinn posted by: William Hay on 4/27/2001 at 10:40:57 PM
Hi, Thank you in advance. I just scored a wonderful Schwinn Sting-Ray Deluxe! I think it is a 64 or 65,
has Sting-Ray Whitewall on back, Westwind on front, ect....
I have looked all over for the serial number, all I can find is a 4 on each side of the lower rear tubes.
I don't know the terminology, as far as "head tube" and such. I plead guilty...I am stupid...can someone help me!!!

RE:AGE / VALUE:   Help - Find Serial Number Schwinn posted by Kevin C. on 4/28/2001 at 2:24:35 AM
Look on the frame, just above where the rear wheel attaches on the "kickstand" side. You may have to remove the sissy bar to get a good look. If it is 1964, the second figure will be a "4." If 1965, it will be an "A."

AGE / VALUE:   old Japanese bike posted by: Kelly Aylward on 4/27/2001 at 6:49:12 AM
My father recently purchased an old Japanese bicycle. It has the name MEIHATU on it, along with KOFU(which is a city) too many details to write here, but it is believed to be from the '30s-40s era. If you have any sources of info on vintage Japanese bikes, please advise.
Thank you,
Kelly

I saw a Japanese bike website a while back. Might be a starting point.

Carlisle tires and Trelleborg, were good replacement tires but only Genuine Raleigh with the red stripe will do.
