HI, i just got done doing business with the people at vintagebicycleparts.cjb.net and i've got to say that they are the most friendliest and have the best prices that i've ever seen out of a parts site. I bought a Sturmey archer 3 speed hub from them for $28 dollars including shipping. They have the best deals i've seen. They also are willing to trade for parts too. They have all of the parts needed for restoring musclebikes and along with other schwinns.

Thanks alot VINTAGEBICYCLEPARTS.CJB.NET

I'm going to have to agree with the guys below. I went to that site, not much inventory, not great prices, not even a very good website. If you want any more S/A 3 speed hubs for $28 a pop, let me know, I've got three, five gallon buckets of them in my basement, heck, I'll let you have one for $20.00. Not a slam, just the facts, that site is not good source of parts, inventory or price-wise....

RE:RE:MISC:   **GREAT DEALS FROM VINTAGE BICYCLE PARTS**** posted by stuart on 12/23/2002 at 5:27:58 AM
actually, that is the same price as they were offering it on this site. but just one difference. my prices are including shipping.
oldroads is an awesome site. but my prices are cheaper on some stuff. so you shouldnot talk crap vinny

I was being impartial and objective and basing my observations on facts. Those facts are:
1. Your web page is weak and poorly designed. It looks like a fifth grader's compter class project.
2. Your inventory is weak. You have virtually nothing of value.
3. Your prices are high.
Not crap, FACTS!!! Have a merry christmas Stuart and maybe advertise on another page rather than wasting space on this one.

Stuart you really should quit doing this. This is supposed to be a discussion page. Furthermore the site you're advertising is by no means great. We all have stuff like that in our basements.

Maybe, if he sent Vin, oh say $25-$30 a month he could fly a banner ad here.

I'd gladly send hime some "inventory" if only he'd pay the freight.

LMAO

hey ken, if you have something to say, you can e-mail me instead of talking trash to people. advertising is not against the rules. you said that it should be a discussion area, well i think talking crap to real bike lovers is not very polite and courteos which is a rule. And by the way, the iste is pretty great given that the runner of oldroads.com does have me on his links.
i just wanted to clear that up.
thanks,

AGE / VALUE:   Kent girl's/boy's convertible sting ray posted by: Greg on 12/15/2002 at 2:45:05 AM
I have an old Kent 16" sting ray; boy's or girl's, it has the place for a removable top tube to convert to girl's style. Frame style is 2 down-tubes, not 1. Original paint is light powder blue, sissy bar, white banana seat with blue flames, riser handlebars with original grips, chrome fenders, rear eflector, original white-wall tires (thin stripe, not fat). Pretty good shape, was a very cool ride for my daughter. Missing the chain guard and the removable top tube. Value??

RE:AGE / VALUE:   Kent girl's/boy's convertible sting ray posted by JimW. on 12/16/2002 at 2:37:23 AM
I'm afraid it's not terribly valuable. Kent was a pretty low-end brand. That was the house brand at Woolworth's before they went out of business. 16" convertibles aren't considered to be very desirable either. I wouldn't expect to get much more than $25 for a perfect example, and that might be optimistic.

RE:RE:AGE / VALUE:   Kent girl's/boy's convertible sting ray posted by stuart on 12/17/2002 at 6:28:54 AM
i bet you that he could get more than that. the sissy bar, seat and frame alon is worth much more than that. it doesnt always matter on just the brand, its the parts that you also have to consider. if you want, i will give you 10 bucks for the sissy bar alone. please e-mail me or maybe we can make a trade. check my site out.

For a Kent?
Kents are not collected and the cissy bar is not likely interchangable with anything respecable.
Still, if you put thisd at the kerb, it would vanish before the truck arrives to take it away.
Look at the site the dude recommended anyways.

AGE / VALUE:   Sears Spyder posted by: Ken on 12/13/2002 at 9:30:21 PM
Since I work with kids, and fix kids' kikes, my friends bring me junk (Save it for Ken, he'll take it...). The latest is a girls' banana/high rise 20x1.75 with the round Sears headbadge and distinctive Murray pointed dropouts. What makes it interesting is a cable-actuated rear drum brake (and an Altenberger front caliper). Isn't this an odd configuration? Can someone enlighten me please?

i recently purchased a Myers speed and the guy threw in this weird 20" bike. it has coil spring rear, motor bike style front forks. has a short sissy bar still attached but no bannana seat (he threw it) and plactic yellow fenders i have been told it should also have a plastic yellow fake fuel tank. i cannot find any info on it at all. it looks to say shweshn bicycles on the front. shwesh?? the last letter is hard to make out.

any ideas? anyone?

from Australia are you? nice bikes the myre speeds are. i ride an extra long frame 3spd one myself. the other bike in question sounds very like a Raleigh Rampar (if u search for this u will find a pic on this site i think). they were made in the period between dragsters and BMX. intersting bikes and very heavy. i have one in similar condition to yours at home. Good Luck!
