AGE / VALUE:   AMF Musclebike ? posted by: Dan on 11/29/2002 at 2:55:50 AM
I picked up an AMF Musclebike frame, seat post, sissy-bar and wide high handlebars/grips for a $2 dollar bill. Is the Renegade the only model AMF built in a Musclebike? It has a gold frame with some of the decals still visible on the downtube but the rest of the frame is fair to poor (rust) and no chainguard to ID the bike. It is also missing the headbadge, how difficult would it be to replace it? I'm only a 40 minute drive from where the AMF/Roadmaster bikes had been built for many year's in Olney, Illinois but it seems this model may have been built elsewhere. Did they make AMF's in Pennsylvania (faded decal)?

Thanks Tom, I'll most likely make a custom with the frame as a starting point but I wanted to find out a little more about the AMF models first. I have a W-F Buzz Bike Musclebike all original including tires, the AMF frame will be a fun custom/lowrider project I will ride.

No, it was my wife's brothers bike back in the '60's early '70's. I own it now and will keep it in the family, it is a neat little single speed with a rear slick and racing stripes on the fenders.

AGE / VALUE:   Cheesy Rider posted by: Richard on 11/26/2002 at 1:31:53 AM
I have found a Chester Cheetah's Cheesy Rider bicycle but, I can not find anything about this bicycle. It is purple and has cheeta spots on the rear fender. The front fork is extended to give a "low rider" look. It also has three front lights which are driven off a rear wheel generator. Can anyone help me.

RE:AGE / VALUE:   Cheesy Rider posted by Cal on 11/27/2002 at 2:40:41 PM
I think there's one of those in the picture database. Click on the link at the top of this page, and I know people have discussed them on here at oldroads over the years, so check the archives, too.

Hi Richard, can you please give me any info on the "rail" as i picked one up last year and is now sitting in my basement as my next prodject. Thank you

RE:RE:WANTED:   Huffy Rail Parts Needed posted by Richard on 12/14/2002 at 2:56:44 PM
Info is vague on the Rail. Huffy changed hands so many times and the company records weren't saved. I have found out that they were sold under the Huffy, Sears, Firestone and JC Penny names. I do have a guy that will recreate the decals for me. Hope that was of some help.

RE:AGE / VALUE:   What year bike? posted by tom on 11/25/2002 at 4:40:47 AM
ur bike is an august 1963 or 1964 can i see a pic of it??

RE:AGE / VALUE:   What year bike? posted by Drew on 11/25/2002 at 8:59:11 PM
1963 or 64 is not correct, the letter is the month (H is August), and first number is the year up to 1964. Then in 1965 Schwinn started using the two letter dating system; AA= Jan.1965, BB= Feb.1966, etc. Therefore your 'H5' prefix must be from the 50's. This website has a Schwinn serial number page that may help.

Anyone have any information on chrome Raleigh Rodeo's. Saw a 1966 with stick shift at a bike show a couple of weeks ago? I've never seen one thats chrome instead of painted, this must be rare.

RE:MISC:   Chrome 'Rodeo' posted by Cal on 11/27/2002 at 2:42:24 PM
I've seen them with chrome fenders, but not chrome frames.
