We linked in a bunch of pictures over the weekend (we review them and manually link them into the Picture Database).
If your pix were in .GIF or .JPG format, they're in the database now.

And thanks for your contribution.

MISC:'76 Schwinn Fastback posted by: DannyJoe on 11/5/2003 at 2:26:49 AM
I picked up my first boy's Stingray today, a Fastback 5spd. thumbshift. It's kinda rough but free, it's missing the original fork and wheel(replaced with an S2 rim/ WF fork) and brake cables. This was the last year for the Fastback but was it the only year for the 5spd. thumbshift? Does the thumbshift make it more or less collectible?

I also own a WF BuzzBike, Renegade, an WF wedge style frame bike(?) and a Westpoint Aerobee along with a '67 &'74 Schwinn fairlady's. But the boy's Stingray bike has been elusive for me to find until now.

RE:MISC:'76 Schwinn Fastback posted by wade on 11/9/2003 at 1:57:31 AM
The thumbshift does make it less valuable.. The stick shift on ebay will sell between 60-80 dollars.. Plus the stick shift is more eye appealing.. but the thumbshift fastbacks are still quite valuable.

RE:RE:MISC:'76 Schwinn Fastback posted by DannyJoe on 11/10/2003 at 11:47:05 PM
Thank's wade, I was aware of the stick's but not the 5spd. thumb's, was '76 the only year for 5spd. thumbshift?

RE:RE:RE:MISC:'76 Schwinn Fastback posted by wade on 11/12/2003 at 2:11:14 AM
i believe 73' was the last year for stick shift on the fastbacks due to safety reasons

I'm looking to buy an old Cheetah pedal bike/car from the 1970s!! I used to ride one when I was a kid and LOVED IT!! There was nothing faster and more cool at the time! I want to buy it so my own kids can experience it!! If anyone knows where I can find one please, please, please, let me know. I grew up in Los Angeles California in the San Fernando Valley and there were two kids on our street who had one besides me and we're all looking for one! We're 34 now!! Time flies.

What size is the spokes that the Schwinn Sting Ray and Krate bikes take?
The front wheel with the drum hub and the front wheel with the plain front hub?
I need the exact sizes. Same thing for the rear wheel.
What are the spoke sizes for the Rays and Krates?
Long or short nipples?
Thank You very much

Thanks, but I was asking for the exact length of the spokes in inches or in millimeters. I have spokes that I am trying to sort out as to what size fits what.

For example, this box I have here is marked 9 5/8
What size wheel does that go in?

You and hundred other people would buy it.

RE:RE:FOR SALE:   schwinn grey ghost posted by Chris on 11/4/2003 at 6:40:33 PM
Do not sell that bike right now. Learn what these go for and then put it up on e- bay.
These sell for over $1000.00!
They are rare and sought after.

Look under complete auctions on e- bay type in Schwinn Krate series Grey Ghost and see what these go for.

20.00?
These days that barely buys you a cup of coffee!

i also have a 3 speed Banditos banana seat bike and again in perfect condition
please help

Don't throw the seat away. Chances are someone here or on the other bicycle forums and collector areas will want that seat for a restoration or even a custom bike. And there's always (ugh) Ebay.

RE:AGE / VALUE:Raleigh Fireball posted by Catfood Rob on 11/6/2003 at 9:19:15 PM
Max,the Fireball is a sought after bike, unfortunatelly its only sought after by a few of us in England :(
They seem pretty cheap over there. Boy I wish I was "over there" !
The full story, if you want to read it, is on www.raleighchopper.info in the history section.

Max, www.nemusclebikes.com has a 2 very nice ones as well as a few Rodeo bikes (2 NOS). These were great bikes to ride and will become more valuable when they are "discovered".

Hi. I have an Aerobee too. I didn't think there were many left. I wanted to write to express my feelings that someone is interested in more than just the stingray muscle bikes for restoring. I specialize in restoring non-schwinn bannana bikes.
