Not sure who told you that a Fairlady's parts can be interchanged with a Fastback? The rims are a completely different size as well as forks, handlebars, etc. Races and bearings will match, but that's about it.
A girls Stardust 1969 - 1972 will have matching parts as far as rim size, fenders, etc. A Fairlady had 1-3/4" rims, front and rear. Your best bet would be to search ebay for the parts you need. If you buy a bike just for parts, you're going to get hit with shipping costs. Email me if you have any questions.

Go to www.mostlymusclebikes.com. Their is a purple murray firecat with some cool features for 450$ in new condition. Also their is a message posted in this section somewhere that has a murray firecat for 175$. If you email that person, you should get a link that brings you to where some photos are posted. The firecat is VERY rusty and the only parts not old or rusted are the wheels. In my opinion that person wants to much for it. Don't try emailing the individual person. If you do then you will get a message saying that you are sending a message to the MSN organization and not the Schwinn collectors group. Just thought you should know. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

RE:MISC:   STINGRAY HELP!!!!!! posted by ziggy on 12/29/2003 at 1:39:27 AM
The stingray with "one top bar" is a fastback model which are usually found with handshifters. The stingray frame with "two bars in the middle" is a normal stingray frame. Resist from buying stingray frames with good condition original paint because the prices on ebay could rise pretty high. Try to find a murray or AMF brand frame because they are cheaper and just as good as schwinn frames. They also share the same styling as schwinn frames. Note that frames loaded with rust go cheaper despite the brand. However make sure that the rust is surface rust which can be removed with wire brushes, copper wool(if you wan't the paint to stay. If not, use steel wool.) Good luck searching.

WANTED:   Warranty Cards etc etc posted by: Ron on 12/21/2003 at 7:32:03 PM
Hi all,

Have just acquired 2 NOS bikes, one is a NOS Vindec Speedster, the other a NOS Puch Mini Sprint.

As i will be showing the bikes, I am trying to locate warranty cards, construction manuals, multi spanners, owners manuals for both bikes and any hang tags. Originals would be nice, however would settle for high quality repro's.

Kim, thanks for the info on the "R" nuts. will deal with shortly.

WANTED:   Sears Screamer Parts Urgently Needed posted by: Sean on 12/21/2003 at 3:26:49 AM
I urgently need a seat and rear fender (with brace) for a Sears Screamer. I also badly need the washer cone that goes on the top and bottom of the spring in the rear seat support or "sissy bar". It simply is a special washer cone that holds the spring in place on the sissy bar. I only need one but will buy more. The seat pins that hold the sissy bar together in the back also are needed. As long as I'm going for it, petals and a 16" redline tire will also be needed. Hopefully someone can help me. I can trade or pay cash via a money order. Thanks, Sean.

MISC:   Iverson Dragstripper posted by: Sean on 12/20/2003 at 6:09:34 PM
Hi. I have a Iverson Dragstripper that I owned for many years now. It was found in a junkyard under an old ups truck under many, many, leaves and snow. It had a bent fork soI assume that it hit a wall or something hard and was junked. There were no wheels on it when I found it, however there was no shifter on it either. The fork is/was 20". I am writing this because it doesn't look like the normal dragstripper. I bought a normal one-speed and it looked just like the ones in the picture database except for the light pea green color and being a 20" front fork and wheel. This one has a very different chainguard and sprocket. They are original because the chainguard said Dragstripper on it before I had the whole thing sandblasted. The sprocket is not flat. It is larger in diameter than the ususal ones and sort of curves in a pattern outward. The color was purple and the seat was white with purple insert. I was fortunate enough to find a NOS seat exactly like the one it had and bought it. Now I need to know what the headbadge looked like since mine is missing (only rivets left) and I would like to know what the original gooseneck looked like since mine is, well, i forgot which one it is. My handlebars are also very wide. Much wider than the ones in the picture. They were on the bike when I found it. This bike was the only one there by the way. Sorry no real treasure trove of bikes. But oh well. "Sean"

If anyone knows where to get a drag stripper chainguard let me know.. as far as the headbadge sticker goes, it is an aluminum sticker with iverson in black in the middle with 4 color bands circling around it... sorry couldn't be much help, my headbadge is very faded.. but soon i will have a whole set of drag stripper decals.. email me if interested .. mordeth72@hotmail.com

FOR SALE:   Sears Screamer Project posted by: Sean on 12/18/2003 at 5:19:54 AM
I have a Sears Screamer project that I am reluctantly parting with. Its apart and in pieces but mostly if not all there. It still wears its tattered original paint and the chrome isn't that great. It was broke on both sides just ahead of the rear wheel on the lower frame but has been taken to a PROFESSIONAL welder who knew what he was doing and it is stronger and better than new. If you didn't know about the break beforehand you would never spot the repair. Its finished and smoothed out so it looks like its normal. Naturally the paint is bare in that spot. Its now much safer, stronger and superior to the factory spot weld. Like I said you would never know unless you were told. Otherwise, aside from the expensive frame repair, it was taken apart and put into a box anticipating restoration mechanically. May trade. Otherwise $225.00 Can get pictures but the bike is buried under ALOT! So be patient. Will have to dig out, reassemble bike, and photograph.

Original 1968 Raleigh Fireball. Black frame, springer fork, rearslick with original whitewall wheels, 5-speed with thumb shift and derailer, front and back brakes with 60s holographic cables, white ultra-padded banana seat, cool 60s bells. These bikes are incredibly rare and hard to find. I am asking $650. I can be reached best at mungchop6669@aol.com. Also have Schwinn Slik Chic in great original condition $450

RE:FOR SALE:   Raleigh Fireball for sale!! posted by SuperDeluxe65 on 12/15/2003 at 8:25:31 PM
From the research I've done so far I think a springer fork and a 5 speed thumbshift are not original equipment for the Raleigh Fireball. The ads I've seen so far so that. I think they also used a Brooks saddle instead of a standard banana seat. I can't be certain that they didn't use a whitewall, but the ones I have seen had the rare Raleigh Redline slick. I really don't think your bike is as original as you think. I can send an ad of the Raleigh Fireball so you can check it out.

The Fireball did have whitewall tires. I checked the ad again.
