Well it is in great condition, but it's not a krate, so 5 grand is a little too much. >: )

"...in great condition" That's a relative term Zig - while the paint is obviously in tip-top shape, I can't say the same for the chrome. Sure, it can be cleaned up, but it doesn't look like anything promising under that dirt...I'd say most parts on this thing would need a rechrome or replacement to get it in C-10.

I do like those original Schwinn Stingray WWs though...very cool.

Take care,

Kurt

Well great condition in my book is a complete bike with all of the original parts with no faded paint, no dry rot on the tires , no rust, scratches or rust. Oh and no rust. Chrome is always going to be pitted on an old bike. You can't even tell if there's a scratch because you can't see a light scratch on chrome until it rusts. Also no rips in the seat. I've seen many a bike in C-10 condition with a ripped seat that ruins it. >: )

I have cleaned out a whole Schwinn bicycle shop full of bikes and parts. For less than this one bike went for. An old shop full of old parts, literature, parts, whole bikes, some new in their boxes, tins and boxes full of parts and trucked it to storage for less than this. You don't spend 5,000.00 on a bike unless it's worth 10,000.00
I do not believe that somebody paid this much for this bike in this condition. This was an error, somebody hit the wrong key on the keyboard when they entered their bid on the bike. Thats the only way I can explain it.

Nobody would pay that much for that. I don't care how impatient the buyer would be. I have never seen this bike go this high on e- bay before.
This bike even if it was new, in the box should not fetch this much. I know that weird things happen on e- bay but this is plain crazy.

I'm sure the seller didn't care if someone made a mistake. Now the seller is probably going to receive five grand anyway. !: 0
