sounds like you had a Ross "Apollo" 3-speed. They were produced in that time frame. Could be a Sears "Screamer" also; but sounds more like the Ross

MISC:Riding Krates posted by: Mike on 2/14/2008 at 10:40:23 PM
Does anybody like to ride their bikes around? I have three Krates, Orange, Apple and just purchaced Lemon. I change out the seat springs (Stronger ones) and the tires. clean them up to show quality, and take them out for a ride on sunny days. I store the original tires and springs. Does anyone else do this?
A true collectable, maybe should be truely functional?
