AGE / VALUE:   JAD bikes?

Posted by Joe on 3/19/2006 at  6:56:44 AM

I came across an odd frame today, I was told it was made by JAD. The frame is a monotube design and uses a mid style bottom bracket, but is at least 10 years old according to the owner.
Does anyone know anything about these frames or bikes?
The frame I looked at is very close to the one posted here:

I was co sponsored by JAD in the mid 90's. I still have the frame and a set of bars made by them. They also made aluminum and magnesium cranks. I don't know what they are worth but I am curious. Mine is nickel plated but they also had chrome and powder coated versions. If you find one look on the under side of the bottom bracket. Mine has my name and the number 41 on it sonce it was custom ordered. They were made in California, I believe in the San Diego area.
