WANTED:   Who made the Wildfire pre bmx days

Posted by Marc Millard on 3/6/2007 at  2:46:32 PM

I am looking for an early 70's model Wildfire bike and I cant even find a picture of it on the web? Any help is well appreciated. It looked like a motorcycle all black with the side "below the seat" number plates having the name "wildfire" on them and the handle bars had a front number that also had wildfire on it.

They where made by huffy sold a jc pennys in 1976, i got one for christmas, And still have it, now the origanal tires have long dry rotted away, the seat also dry rotted the adn ripped over all the years, but the frame is awsome, paint, perfect, still has the fire middle pad, and center plate that says wild fire, my kid rode it when he was growing up, all of his friends never seen one like it, And ive never seen another.

I had this Huffy Wildfire bike too. I was reminiscing about my childhood, and started searching the web for a picture of it. I would give anything to have kept up with that bike. I rode that thing thousands of miles.
