WANTED:WTB: Cyclo derailleur. posted by: Thom J. on 12/14/2010 at 11:21:04 AM
I'm still looking to buy an old Cyclo derailleur. Either the Benelux for S/A multi-gear adapter system or one of the freewheel add-on types. I've seen a few come and go on Ebay but I always seem to just miss the auction cut-off. Plus I'd rather buy one from folks who really appreciate vintage bikes and parts. Please drop me a line if you have one for sale. Thx in advance, Thom.

MISC:GAC Especial Aibar posted by: Kpafun on 12/10/2010 at 2:18:05 PM
Hi folks,
I just got a 'strange' spanish 3-speed. It LOOKS built in the 'Nottingham Raleigh' style, but it has an amazing level of detail, e.g, elaborate headbadge, GAC-stamped wingnuts in front, funky dropouts, oil caps in the BB etc. It does has a '60 SA hub, which does'nt look/feel right with the rest of the frame. It says Especial 'GAC' Aibar on the headbadge and 'Sprit Cycles' stickers all over.
Google tells me Garate, Anitua & Cia is a hundred plus year old company, made bicycles and pistols in the past, but now makes exercise equipment.
I cannot find a website for the current company or any way to date the frame itself.
Is anyone here able to point me in the right direction?

Thx!

WANTED:tall vintage mixte frameset posted by: Robert on 12/8/2010 at 1:22:28 AM
I'm looking for a tall (at least 22"/56cm) mixte frameset to build up into a special. It must be lugged steel, have twin lateral stays, be non-Asian and pre-1980s. Aesthetics are not important, but having the BB and headset are a plus.

I know that Raleigh, Austro-Daimler, Puch, Mercian, Mercier, Motobecane and Peugeot made taller mixtes; no doubt there are others as well. (Schwinn and Gazelle made semi-mixtes, but they had single top-tubes, so no thanks.)

If anyone has a frameset for sale for a modest price, please contact me with particulars. Thanks!

I'm looking for a chaincase to complete a 1938 -1940 Raleigh Dawn Tourist; the bike has excellent paint, so I'm looking for a case that is in exceptional shape. I believe that the Raleigh logo during this era would be in script, gold on black - not block letters.
