FOR SALE:   NEED HELP info on LIBERTY 1960'S BICYCLE posted by: shelley on 8/29/2010 at 5:31:30 PM
Hello,
I have a set of his/hers LIBERTY (Schwinn) bicycles. I believe these are from the 1960's era. I would like to know more info about them and the value as I would like to sell them. I am having a hard time finding any info on these bikes. They both have baskets, mirrors and racks. They are made from Liberty which I believe is a branch of Schwinn. The look like Cruiser bicycles. Any help would be appreciated! I have photos avaiable, because I an new to the website I am not familiar on how to add a picture. But I can send them from my email. Thank you in advance.

shelley, I had a Schwinn-built Liberty that dated from about 1940. The badge was Chicago Cycle Supply Co. with a statue of Liberty on it. It's not a branch but a separate company. I suggest you read up on "Schwinn-built" and "rebadged" bikes.

FOR SALE:   Seneca Montogomery Ward posted by: Jordan on 8/26/2010 at 1:57:38 PM
Early 1960s mystery bike. Has the name Seneca on the chain guard. Has a Troxel seat with Mongomery Ward serial number. Cant find any information on it though online. Not exactly sure what I have here and not trying to get rich on it. Has 24x1.75 front and back wheels. Rides great, headlight mounted on it. A really unique star pattern cut into the front sprocket. Great condition and is complete.

Sorry to bother, but I need help identifying a 10 speed bike. It looks like a old schwin but it has french m2 rims (mavak or something like that), sakae handlebars and sakae pedals and gear. There is no sticker on who made the bike but it has a serial that starts off EE123456 like that.

If you can email pictures to me I'll try to help. Views of the right side of the machine (the side the chain is on), the headtube, the chainwheel, the seat cluster, the rear derailleur and hanger really help. Japanese components usually have date codes- take a look at http://www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm
