I have a Moulton that came to me in a mysterious way. There was no thermos with it, however. Very strange lack of coincidence, I would say. Hmmm....

I bought decals for a Hercules I had from these people on Ebay. They were not the exact right decals but it was the only Hercules decals I could find. I am not sure if the Phillips decals they have will work for you or not.

WANTED:20 x 2 (iso 400) tire posted by: Hugh on 6/27/2010 at 10:47:51 AM
I have an older Philips Butchers bike in need of a front tire. I have found that this size is not the normal 20 inch, but a special version with an ISO number of 400. This tire is cross referenced as British 18 x 1 3/4 or German 20 x 2. Just need one tire; any advice as to where to find one would be welcome. Thanks

Check Ebay UK. I have seen the 20x2 tires available on there. I have also seen them on Ebay USA from time to time but they are always on Ebay UK for a good price. Good luck.

Hi Fiona--
You might want to check bikeforums.net and look under classic/vintage. There are a few guys in Canada (Toronto, I think) who have some ladies' DL-1 Tourists and said they've been coming across a lot of them recently, usually 1978 vintage. They are gorgeous--I was just wondering how much it'd cost to ship them FROM Canada to here! Good luck.

I saw!! Your new bike is beautiful--exactly what I want. I actually bought a loop frame this weekend and it is so lovely but a bit of a grande dame for everyday city riding--I want a newer Tourist too! Funny how one is just not enough...But enjoy--I am loving the 28-inch wheels...

Thanks Sarah'' I'm over the moon about her. Are you going to post pics of your new loop frame on bike forums? I also am buying a Pashley Princess but she is new but I'll love her too..lol

Its a fun addiction..though not sure if hubby agrees with me yet

RE:WANTED:Looking for Ladies Raleigh Dl-1 posted by Sarah on 6/28/2010 at 6:59:37 PM
wow!! Jealous--I have never even seen a Pashley IRL but they are gorgeous. And I haven't taken any pics yet, but you can see the loop frame on another bikeforums thread-- http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?656122-1930-s-3-Speed.-Coolest-thing-EVER . I LOVE it--was charmed by the looks alone but I spent Sunday afternoon riding and now I am totally smitten! And yes--family thinks I have gone bonkers...

Hey Terry, I was wondering if you were still interested in selling that bike because I have been searching desperately for a jetfire for awhile now that is in good condition. And if it is, I am VERY interested. I just adore those bikes so much. So if you have figured out a price or are interested in talking it over can you email me at haleyinblue@yahoo.com.
Thank you :)

MISC:1964 Huffy Sportsman bikes posted by: Amanda on 6/19/2010 at 2:50:03 PM
Hi, I don't really know anything about bikes. I just needed one and came across a pair of really nice looking older bikes. I got curious and figured out that they are both 1964 Huffy Sportsman. I can't really find any pricing information. I'm not selling them since I love them, but I'm just curious. I paid $44 for both, which I'm sure was a good deal. Let me know if you guys know anything about them. Thanks a lot! (P.S. The woman's is black and has a basket and the mans is orange red and has a working headlight :) )

The New Departure model D hub was in use from the thirties to the fifties.

Shapleigh's was a hardware company in St. Louis. Probably various makers supplied their bicycles.
