I have a nice vintage bike motor kit that can easily be adapted to most any bike. It has an Echo motor, not one of the cheap , junky Chinese that you see.

WANTED:   cotted crank posted by: Jo on 3/18/2010 at 1:25:10 PM
I'm looking for a new cotted crank for my Very old France-Loire bike.I just replaced the peddles which had spindles that use M14 x 1.25 (14 mm metric with 1.25 mm pitch) threads, and thread loosely into a 9/16 pedal hole.
I'm finding it really hard to find the correct cranks. Any ideas? x

FOR SALE:   Raleigh Sport posted by: Ben on 3/15/2010 at 11:58:40 PM
I have a Raleigh Sport Ladie's Bike, I'm guessing 60's model. I would like to learn more about the bike, I bought it about a week ago, also bought a Phillips Manhattan Men's Bike, both are in great shape, just need some cleaning up, and new tires. They came with the S/Archer 3-Spd Dynohub....Does anyone know what they are worth, and I know you can get the year model off of the rear hub(if it's not a replacement) Which #'s will reveal the year? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Pictures will come later.....

I have a 1956 Raleigh sports ladies, estimated price, especially if it has the original tire pump with it could be from 300 - 800 dollars depending on condition. Check the website www.sheldonbrown.com for info about the years, and serial numbers, please tell me the numbers on the hub and i'll interpret them. I f they don't mean anything then the serial number will be on the rim.

MISC:   Looking for a Gym-Dandy Surrey to buy posted by: Gail F. Davis on 3/14/2010 at 4:22:37 AM
Hello,
Our family growing up had 6 kids spread over 20 years and we had a surrey. We drove the heck out of that thing. It went through all of our cousins, nieces, nephews, grandkids and all of the neighborhood kids too. I even delivered the Girl Scout Cookies in it every year. One year I even drove it through a blizzard to get those cookies delivered. Boy oh boy, the tips I got that year! heeheehee. Anyways... It disappeared one day (Dad was good at doing that when things were about ready to collapse). Now it's time for my granddaughter to have one when she comes to Grandma's house. And I hope there will be other grandkids coming along sometime soon. If anyone knows of one that's available for fixing up, please let me know. My husband only makes $1,000 a month. I can't work because of a brain tumor. I do make a few crafts and try to sell them on craigslist. I don't have much to spend, but if someone would take payments, I could eventually pay it off. I have to pay for it because my husband has to pay for my meds. They're over $500/month just for the co-pays. I'm not asking for charity. I'm just asking for a chance to pay for one over time if anyone knows of one that's available that I can paint and make a new canopy for it. Thank you for reading this.

Saw an ad on e-bay for a Gym Dandy Surrey for sale and they were asking $495 for it. That was, I think in Iowa. If you "google" Gym Dandy Surrey, all sorts of possibilities pop up.

I love the mental image of Girl Scout Cookies being delivered in a blizzard--now THAT is first rate Customer Service! Amazing what people will do for those Cookie Mints, isn't it?

Good luck and I hope this helps you.

MISC:   1951 Monark Super Deluxe posted by: WM on 3/10/2010 at 6:08:35 PM
This is a rare, unmolested 1951 Monark Super Deluxe, 26” balloon tire bicycle,
made in Chicago, Ill.

It has the “cheese grater” rear carrier and the “train” fender light. This is an untouched original bicycle, even with original Royal Rider tires that hold air. Original chrome is immaculate for its age. This will only appreciate in value as good, unrestored originals are hard to come by and even more sought after than a fully restored bicycle.

This bike was the top of the line in the early 1950’s, created to compete with the Schwinn Black Phantom. This is a rare, unique piece of classic mid century Americana in AMAZING unmolested, original condition!

LOOKING TO BARTER

Looking for someone to trade for a floor model woodworking bandsaw,
minimum 18” in size, no Chinese saws please…only American or Italian, older saws ok.

Bicycle is currently in Mass. But will be available for review for serious inquiry when time comes.

Email me with questions or if you want more pics. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.

I will only respond to emails that include a picture & description of Your bandsaw that you are considering trading.

I need to get at least $1400 for it. I know this economy sucks now, but this is what I paid for it, and will keep it before I lose $$$$. This is why I was trying to barter. This is an amazing original bike, the chrome is amazing. I am planning on taking more pics on the next sunny day to be able to really show how nice this bike is. It kills me to have to part with it.

Let me know if you want more detailed pics. I am in East Hartford, CT where are you?

Thanks,
WM

I am in KY near Louisville. Thanks anyway. Single mom here with a love for classic bikes. I have 2 old bikes. 1 is my daughters (she is 14 and conned me out of it) and I bought us both one when I was still married. I get them to ride and enjoy with her. I am not a seller or collector but I take really good care of them.
