More info, please. From the number, it's not a Schwinn, Columbia or Murray, but that leaves all the rest... (Schwinn and Columbia lists are available on this site. Murray numbers are longer and segmented.)
If you can post or send detailed photos of the bike and its components, someone will be able to help.
You can compare it with pictures on this site or at nostalgic.net, looking at frame design and chainwheel for a good match.

WANTED:   Need Parts and Info on a Columbia Twosome posted by: Dave on 1/1/2009 at 2:46:47 PM
I have what I think is a Columbia Twosome tandem. It matches several pictures of Twosomes I've seen, but could be a rip-off. I need to know where to look for the serial number. I also need a chain guard (it appears to be a two-piece chain guard - but the pictures I've seen make it look like its one piece - that's why I think it could be a knock-off). Any other advise or info on where to get parts would be appreciated!

FOR SALE:   1975 Raleigh Superbe posted by: Larry on 12/24/2008 at 4:24:39 PM
Good looking survivor from July 1975 is a Raleigh Superbe Gents roadster in the original forest green. The mechanical rod brakes work beautifully. The air pump is still attached and works as well! It has the full generator light set with the super rare hard to find sturmey archer Dynoluxe FSU battery case and rear hub with built in generator that allows the lights to stay on even when stopped at a stop sign. The seat tube measures 20 1/2" from the top of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube. Tires size is 26 x 1 3/8. Bike is located in So Cal. Would like to sell to someone local to avoid shipping.

Ben,
Your bike appears to be original. Since the value is only about $150 or less, I wouldn't do a restoration on the bike. I would do a good cleanup (polish the chrome, disassemble and repack all the bearings, clean and wax the paint, etc), then just enjoy riding it. You could add some period accessories such as a horn, light or speedometer to jazz it up a little. If you are going to ride it moderately, you may want to add a Bendix 2-speed kickback hub, which makes pedaling a lot easier. Looks like a fun project, since you have a good base to start from! Enjoy it!

Thanks. Can you tell me which light is missing from the front fender? Do you have any pictures? Do you know the year or dating method? This bike is in great condition compared to others up here in the redwood rainforest(rustforest-ha!).Thanks for the help-cheers

RE:FOR SALE:   BF Goodrich Challenger posted by Jim on 12/27/2008 at 8:10:55 PM
Sorry, but I don't have any photos or literature of that particular bike. As to the age, early 1960's (possibly very late 1950's, but I wouldn't swear to it). You could put a variety of lights on the front fender. A Delta Wasp or similar style light would look good; you might even want to consider a handlebar mount light, since the fender on those bikes tends to bounce around a good bit! You could also see if the seatpan has a couple of posts to support a crash rail - that would be a nice addition.
