WANTED:†††Ace #81 Bicycle Tube Repair kit posted by: Jim on 11/30/2008 at 2:45:28 PM
I am looking for a 1950's vintage Ace #81 bicycle tube repair kit. The version I am looking for has the 4 ace cards in a fan across the top. It must be in reasonably good condition, but doesn't need to have any contents, since it is for a display. If you have one and wish to sell, please let me know. Thanks!

WANTED:†††Wald after-market front fork, heavy duty posted by: Kevin on 11/30/2008 at 11:16:14 AM
I am looking for an aftermarket front fork for a 26 inch balloon bike, once sold by WALD. It is rounded on top, smooth on the sides, but inside you can see where the steel has been rolled to form double rods on each fork. It is stamped "WALD" and the patent number at the bottom, where the cutout is for the axle bolt. Please let me know if you have one for sale. Thanks.

Wow, you sound like a serious collector!

Do you have any Raleighs? I'm looking for a Ladie's bike, 16" frame, 24" wheels, mid-1960's-early 1970's. Anything like that available?

Thanks.

WANTED:†††Schwinn Pixie replacement pedals posted by: Luke on 11/29/2008 at 8:25:26 AM
I am cleaning up a 1981 Schwinn Pixie for my daughter for Christmas. It is in great condition overall but the pedals are pretty worn. Does anyone have advice on where to find appropriate replacement pedals? I don't really care if they actually came off of a pixie, just that they don't look new/modern...thanks.

MISC:†††Did I SHRINK??! posted by: PAT on 11/27/2008 at 7:49:27 PM
Back in the early-60's, when I was a "pre-teen", Dad bought an Armstrong 3-speed bicycle, what we mistakenly called an "English racer", for me. At $150 if was a large outlay of cash for him in those days.

Up to the purchase of the Armstrong, I had been riding my older brother's HUGE Boy's Schwinn and Mom thought I was going to get killed in traffic; I had to put a pillow on the frame to sit close enough to the handlebars to steer and the foot brake (no handbrakes on that monster) was somewhere to the south of my feet.

I loved my Armstrong and was heart broken when it was stolen right off my front porch back in the mid-80's.

Does ANYONE know if Armstrong, later "absorbed" by the Raleigh company, ever built/sold a Ladies 3-speed bike, with coaster AND hand brakes that had, maybe 24 inch wheels and a 16 inch frame? I'm thinking that's what I must have had because my current Raleigh is an 18.5 inch frame with 26 inch wheels and I'm just not comfortable or confident riding it. It feels too big for me.

Is it possible that I may have SHRUNK? Well, not the waistline, but that is a different story...

I'm fairly positive that at age 12, when Dad bought the bike for me, I hadn't yet achieved my present "towering" height of 5'2" but that bike fit me very well.

Ladies, 3-speed English "style" bike, coaster AND hand brakes, 24 inch wheels, with North Road or swept back handlebars, 16 inch frame in good condition; pretty much sums it up.

If anyone has an idea where I could find something along those lines PLEASE e-mail me with that information! I would really appreciate your input.

Thank you very much for reading this and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
